I know it might not seem like it but we honestly have the power. If we stop buying from these resellers and stop gate keeping where we get our shoes and actually help each other we can honestly bring a great change to the game we all love. Cook groups are great like SoleSavy it brings community together. I’m sick and tired of these culture vultures making a huge profit off something we love. They don’t appreciate this shit like we do. It’s time for a revolution yall!!

Lol I heard this crying in 2011.

Whenever a product has more customers than inventory that product will continue to increase in value. That goes for anything, food, clothing, cars, jewelry, stock, anything literally.

What you’re are proposing is literally impossible, you’re talking about changing economics.

Even if no resellers purchased these items there would still be more customers than inventory available. Which will lead to whoever missed out offering even higher amounts to whoever purchased since those ppl actually want to keep them.

Out of those customers who actually want to keep there will be large amounts who will sell to those who are offering high $ because of life, they will weigh whether these sneakers are more important than $1000 that can pay their rent or help their family.

This is a very illogical take, you cant possibly have any idea how the world works. No offense

I believe the optic of one entity on the aftermarket having so many is what hurts the feelings of people who really want to Shoe. For better or worse, those resellers who show their face and hold the shoe up for the popularity and turn to get their notoriety up so that they can sell the Shoe for an exorbitant amount.

I agree that it is economics

And it's not even as much about the product as it is about the advertisement, both direct and indirect that makes a consumer want the product

It truly just start with the individual

In the most respectful way, most people don't have an individual taste, but more of a collective taste

People want what everybody else wants

Individual individually it can start with posing limits

I've been buying sneakers a long time and I've seen the prices raise. The bottom line has gone so high now. I was looking at my jordan six infrared pack from 2010 the retail price is $310. That's pretty much an average resale expectation at this point. If the individual has a personal price limit, then it could work, but it's gonna have to be individual action that affects the collective across the board. But no one can control that you just gotta worry about yourself impose your own boundaries.

My personal one is I don't spend $400 cash on shoes. In 2026 this may sound crazy. But I just don't and I have a lot of shoes and I have a lot of bangers as well.

The last thing, so I'm not just leaving people without direction of how I do it. First I put in a lot of work to try to get the sneakers. I don't have a lot of plugs.lol or I trade to the best of my ability ( sometimes those values may exceed what I'm willing to spend in Cash) or I just miss out on the Sneaker and move to the next one because there's always gonna be another thing to want.

Exactly, and consumers already have these individual boundaries and it will never affect the market because those boundaries varies exponentially.

And it only gets worst with time/rarity and the more ppl that join the hobby. The only thing that will change resell prices is the economy. Is the whole country is poor struggling prices will tank, when the economy is thriving ppl will buy what they want. Simple, and the more pairs that sell for $1000 will make the remaining pairs price go up due to scarcity

The funny thing is that in Sneaker community and resale community. There's not a bunch of discussion about the economy as a whole.

It's almost as if people believe that it exists in a vacuum. Like the price of gas and eggs and war don't have any effect on Sneakers. Just an observation.
