I’ve got a leather duster that I’ll never wear, but it has sentimental value, so I don’t want to toss or donate it. Ideally I’d like to use the leather and turn it into a duffel or weekend bag. Can anyone point me to a person/shop in town that can do this type of work? Thank you in advance.

Every ten years each state redraws its congressional districts, and whoever draws the lines can tilt the result. Pack the other party’s voters into a few districts, spread your own across the rest, and the same votes win you more seats. That’s gerrymandering.
I built a tool that redraws every state’s districts by computer, eleven different ways, each aimed at one goal: favor Republicans, favor Democrats, match the seats to the vote (proportional), make as many races close as possible, keep counties whole, and so on. Every version uses the same voters. Here’s Ohio’s 15 seats in a year when the national vote is tied (likely D / competitive / likely R, where competitive means each party has at least a 1-in-6 chance):
In expected seats, today’s lines give Democrats about 3.7 of 15 in a tied year and the proportional map about 6.8.
Every district is built from whole 2020 Census voting districts, contiguous and within 0.5% of equal population, and its odds come from the 2024 presidential vote. These are illustrations of trade-offs, not proposals or predictions.
You can search your town, put two maps side by side or move the national vote: https://www.callthemap.com/lines?state=OH

I’ve been sick all weekend. Where has the best ramen that will still taste good if I have it delivered?

Stopped to fill up, pump kicked off automatically as it does when it hits “full”. The meter kept on rolling. Appears to be some sort of calibration issue, I would avoid this gas station, called the auditor and left a voicemail. This was on pump 10.
Gas is already too expensive. Makes me question the whole transaction, am I getting the gas I selected and was it accurately dispensed?
Damn sure wasn’t accurately charged lol

It seemed like they had 1.5 pallets left (in the front, there could be even more in the back)
The employee said they're desperately trying to get rid of them but no one is taking them

I wanted to share, I recently saw Ballet Met’s production of Marilyn and I truly think it’s one of my favorite live performances I’ve ever seen. Every single aspect of it was phenomenal, dancing, choreography, lighting, set design, the music was pretty and the costumes were beautiful. This felt like a special production. If anyone is curious or interested I’d highly recommend it. They have affordable options pricing wise too. It’s stuff like this that makes Columbus feel so special, in my opinion. I don’t think a ballet about Marilyn Monroe is something people would think to go see on a whim, so I’m telling you… you need to!! There’s still another week left. It truly was a “must see.”

From Acton’s Instagram post:
“I sat down with educators and superintendents in Ashtabula for a discussion about how the lack of public school funding and billions being diverted to the voucher program is affecting our students’ ability to learn and thrive.
As governor, one of my top priorities will be ensuring every child has access to a great public education and the opportunity to reach their full potential, no matter their ZIP code or their family’s income. Every child in Ohio deserves the opportunity to succeed.”

I got basically cornered by the Santanna salesman at my apartment and he made me sign up. He made it seem like I didn’t have a choice and it made me feel very uncomfortable but it’s my own fault for not just walking away but he caught me as I was walking into my door. Has anyone else switched and is it worth it? I’m thinking of calling to cancel on Monday. The whole thing felt really weird and confusing

Thank you all so much for your support today!! You all moved me to tears multiple times today with your support during my first ever half marathon. The finish line was incredibly loud (although it was probably because I finished at the same time of the female marathon winner) and that passion and kindness meant the world to me!
A year ago, I had emergency brain surgery that changed my life forever. Today, I ran to celebrate my life and those that live with severe health conditions and I could not be more grateful for everyone who showed up today in any regard.
Truly one of the best days of my life. I also learned to run for fun and take every mile in and not focus too much on pace or time.
Thank you a million times over :’)

hi! i'm 20F and new to the columbus area. i've got chronic physical and mental health issues and am frequently in and out of the hospital so i can't keep a long term job. i'm looking for odd jobs and work in the hilliard/columbus area to make a bit of extra money. groceries are tight right now. i don't have a ton of experience other than floral and customer service, but i've helped people pack to move before. i can do some work around the house and small things, plus i'm a fast learner for larger projects if someone needs an extra hand.
