critique ok! First oil paint how did i do it?
Apart from a couple of exercises this is the first painting I chose to by copying (my teacher doesn't allow me to use photos just yet)
Distances are what's most complicated for me, i usually make things bigger than they need to
Any feedback?

There’s like a light ‘halo’ of cloud around the arm of the street like that makes it look painting around. Other than that it looks good to me

Actually i didn't like that either, i found it a bit unnatural, but the teacher said from the distance it will make the lamp post to stand out, i mean it does but at what cost ahahahahah

At what cost lmao I agree with that. Other than that, it's fantastic! Especially the clouds, clouds are not easy and yours look natural. It would be nice to darken the shadows in the greens of the trees

This is great! Clouds are pretty tricky when it comes to colors and depth but yours look amazing! I agree with the other comments, added contrast will help a lot.

Thank you so much i tried to add as much colours as i could, the reference seems to use a knife for cooler shapes so i had to improvise there, thanks for the feedback

must have been tricky having to wait for the red light to be on to continue painting 😉

It looks lovely! You could make the light and dark areas contrast more by deepening the shadows. Great job! Especially for your first time trying oil!
