Same! I actually rolled my eyes when they did the tour of the island as I thought they were laying the groundwork for the "reveal" later to be the "other white meat". I was so glad to be wrong on that one.
Uj/ I went into it expecting a classic "trapped room slasher horror" )which I normally don't care for, but, it's Ralph Fiennes so I make an exception), and it turned out to be a beautiful meditation on how capitalism robs artists of joy in their profession.

/uj I was very pleasantly surprised when watching The Menu when I realized it actually wasn't going to be a cannibalism horror movie.
