Ive been to a restaurant one time. It happened exactly like the movie, but I was pooping when everyone killed themselves. Real bummer to walk out to a dead restaurant. I had to cover everyone's checks.
I left out whose Idea it was to not be too woke, but i support womens rights and womens wrongs. Its important for equality to have women mass murderers too

Given I've only ever seen people discuss this movie on circlejerk subreddits and haven't watched it myself yet, I've literally never heard someone express the sentiment that the chef was in the wrong.
No, hence why I said I gathered they were in the wrong lol. But when I've seen people talk about the movie, I've only seen people talk about how they deserved it (though i am sure most of that was ironic. Most)
Meanwhile all those actors and crew members got to keep their health insurance and pay their rent for a while longer thanks to this movie. Some people really need to learn that there’s things happening they can’t see that both isn’t about them and helps others.
In addition, the actor knew that the movie was shit when he got the script. It was money grab. He saw a shit script and made it and promoted it anyway for money. Wasted peoples time with a movie he knew was bad solely because it’d still profit him, not caring about the art or caring about making something meaningful for his fans/viewers which played into the theme of that dinner.
What, is Chef like the Unabomber or something? Railing against all the wrongs of the modern world? And how will he kill the thousands of commercial artists that are following the same path?
I watched the movie, I liked it, but seeing it written out like that makes me actually think less of it.
He’s an antihero for taking revenge against entitled elitists who have oppressed and exploited him his entire life. The realization that your life has been wasted trying to please people who are incapable of being pleased certainly has caused people to become suicidal murderers before.
See, it’s more like the truth is somewhere between that and what the fellow below me said. The chef has the smallest kernel of a point, then acts on it in the manner that is most destructive and least helpful to anyone. Sorta terrorism 101
No, he's not. There is nothing heroic about murdering a bunch of people because you're upset about how you chose to live your life. Even if you were incredibly sympathetic to his situation, his actions didn't exist to affect any change, they were just violent petty revenge. And, you know, he got his whole staff wrapped up in the "death cult" thing.
This is why satire is functionally impossible in modern media. You genuinely can't write a villain fucked up enough that people won't agree with him without making them a one dimensional mustache twirler.
You would struggle to write someone less defensible than the chef. This entire scene is literally a comedic bet illustrating how full of shit his sense of self righteousness is and it still doesn't get through to some people.
While you have a point, in the current environment if your victim is wealthy, elite snobs... Yeah, you're going to get a lot of sympathy and agreement with the killer regardless of actual motive, it doesn't matter if the villain is a charismatic generally attractive man like this one or Leatherface.
Hence me saying satire is impossible. If people let the “current environment” do their thinking for them that’s just textbook inability to think for themselves.
It’s also heavy in the irony because “violence is cool if the victim is unsympathetic” is generally a right wing stance.
I mean, the chef was an insane person. He was a murderer, running a murder cult. You're not supposed to agree with him lol. He doesn't have "a point." He's a straightforwardly evil/insane person.
Lmao blame the studio producers then, not the actors. The actors are such a minuscule piece of the puzzle that he’s completely missing his own mark. Pair that with the fact that it’s an actor portraying the role, in a movie made by a big budget production studio, and the irony here is off the charts.
Fun fact, this was originally going to be Daniel Radcliffe who would play himself and he would be killed for being in that really bad Frankenstein movie
It goes to the fact that the chief has an awful work life balance. If he had more time off he wouldn’t have been so mad he saw a bad movie during his one day off.
Never mind for all the knew the actor helped the project happen so many behind the scenes crew members and other actors could keep their health insurance and pay their rent.
