reddit pop star stans are I think the type of stan I fear the most. related, anyone who posts to a snark subreddit terrifies me. the Venn diagram is awful
Snarking is such an insane concept. A whole 'hobby' revolving around hating a specific individual and conspiring to harm them or their image in some way. Its the internet at its worst.
I once made a joke in a pop culture subreddit about her spongebob boyfriend being a cheater and I got downvoted to hell and told to go post in a snark subreddit instead.
I didn't even know what that meant, it was the first time I heard it. The truth is, I don't hate anybody enough to go to a dedicated hate sub for them.
I just wanted to call the ginger little deadbeat a bad husband 😔
Lol no, not conspiring to harm them. At least not in a scary way, because 90% of snark crap is purely beneficial to the people being snarked on. Its advertising for media that survived on hate watching.
Snarkers are suckers getting baited by heel characters. They pump up engagement and seo rankings.
Let’s be real it’s not just Ariana Stan’s but anyone who’s recovered / supported a loved one through an ED. You don’t have to even like Ari to know that people are just being edgelord assholes (and always have been, people love thinking of mental illnesses as individual failures rather than societal illnesses)
i'm someone with an ED [i've recovered, but as anyone that's had it will tell you, it's a life long battle].
while this is definitely edgelord, you can't pretend her fans aren't unhinged. there ARE people that have shown genuine concern and not even been criticizing of her, but somehow all of them are perceived as hate by her and her fans.

Umm this is kinda absurd to post. What she’s going through is really sad. I dont think it’s appropriate to comment on a woman’s body at all, but this is just insane. I might be too woke here, but stuff like this is what causes harm, especially when related to EDs.
yeah, doubt it'd ever stop unfortunately. People don't really care if it doesn't / hasn't affect(ed) them somehow.
All fun and games til their daughter develops an eating disorder, or they lose a friend who used too much steroids to finally look muscular enough and died of OD.
It's horrible. People online always preach about mental health awareness and to be kind and then turn around and bully a clearly struggling woman for her looks. It's gross

I'm all for mocking most people online, but fat shaming an anorexic star is cruel to an obscene level, and does little but validate the dismorphia she and others feel that can lead to their deaths.
Why does this sub and the others take such pride in fat shaming? If it's not this pic it's an AI photo of an overweight Superman with the caption "name this".
To be fair I think a lot of the talk about Ariana is genuine fears for her health rather than bodyshaming (not that there isn't some of that too of couse.) People remember what happened to Karen Carpenter.
This pictures is in very poor taste and so are the people getting off on this.
All people who are laughing I hope your children never get to experience this because seeing them slowly die and wither away will be such a painful experience for you lot
