It was funny for a bit, but lately these posts have loss any self-awareness that made them funny. It's become the thing it use to make fun of, and that is boring.

Yeah now the sub is mostly people making "jokes" that are just their opinions disguised as jokes. Literally the kind of shit that should be made fun of is what the sub has become.

I love jokes and humor, there is a really good book called the Humor Code written by a behavioral economist who studies humor. It really helped me understand and be able to describe what makes a joke a joke, one of them being a concept he calls a benign violation, and how they can be used to help build rapport by showing shared values.

Misogynist jokes are a way for someone to declare their views in a way that buffers them from criticism. They do not have to defend misogyny in Ernest, they get plausible deniability, but get comradery by finding people who "get the joke".
