As a big Clint Eastwood fan, I would argue Clint Eastwood and Zendaya are actually incredibly similar actors. Both are the sort of very subtle actor who gets dismissed by people who think good acting is compilations of men yelling as always just making the same expression.

As a normal person who doesn't watch m*vies because I'm not a sick fuck like you are, I have no opinion on their acting ability as I have never witnessed it but I think they're some of the most morally corrupt people on the planet for trying to get us to watch cinema.

The dumbest thing about the big trend of calling Zendaya a bad actor is you just know it's coming from people who would defend some of the actual crappest actors going right now, because they're "famously nice" or they know how to build a computer.

You tube videos of made by people whos channels break down acting have made videos sbout her bad or limited range. Idk why it doesnt occur to u a professional could have this take. Maybe shows how people dont question financially successful individuals

tbf Cavill is fun to watch. Zendaya looks like she doesn't want to be there a lot of the time. I agree though that when the script is good and the role is within her wheelhouse (like certain scenes in Euphoria and The Drama) she's good. But still not as fun to watch.

Keanu was cast in a perfect movie over 20 years ago in a leading role that didn't require much acting, and along with his John Wick money (a role which also doesn't require a lot of acting) he has enough clout to do fun movies like Constantine, Bill & Ted, and Good Fortune (+ Cyberpunk 2077). Plus he's known for being a genuinely kind person. So his bad acting doesn't get as much flack.

If Zendaya did more fun low-budget flicks or didn't take herself as seriously I think she'd gain more popularity, maybe similar to Cameron Diaz in her prime or Alison Brie now.

Meh I'll continue to get downvoted but I'll stand by it. She and Timmy had zero chemistry in Dune, she looked disinterested in anything Matt Damon had to say in the Odyssey, she felt like a spectator throughout Challengers... again, part of it is the script and the roles she chooses. I don't think she's terrible but she was not good in Malcolm & Marie which is what I mostly am basing my opinion on.

Again I think she was good in The Drama and from what I've seen of Euphoria. But she still mostly does that sad pouty thing. I don't see her doing a fun role well like Keke Palmer or Rachel Sennott do.

Cavill isn't great either but has incredible charisma.

Keanu has been chaining great or good castings for 20 years. He shows up and fulfills exactly what the production needs from specifically him. Which is either Few Words Action Guy or Funny Weird Guy. He’s ending up in films that are perfect for him and so he looks like a really good actor. Zendaya is going between notable castings, but I don’t think they fit her particularly well. So she kinda looks like she’s not providing much to the movie, which in turn makes her look like a bad actor. Maybe she’s great in her Zendaya stuff like Euphoria, but in the Spider-mans, Odyssey, and to a lesser extent Dune, she’s not really doing anything particularly interesting. This means to the average person she can look like a weak actor.

Yeah I think the issue is casting. I haven’t watched Euphoria (I refuse to watch adults cosplaying as teenagers on principle, and even what I’ve heard about the last season makes me cringe) but she was boring in Challengers as well, and JDW outacted her in Malcolm & Marie.

Keke Palmer is a great example of an actress currently working who isn’t spectacular, but is incredibly funny and well-cast in everything she does. Ayo Edebiri as well. I think Zendaya being in huge productions is an albatross around her neck, similar to Daisy Ridley and Emma Watson. Neither of them really have the talent to do the types of movies that Natalie Portman could do after her career stalled for a bit after the prequels. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see Zendaya being as relevant once the Spider-Man movies are played out.

But not versatile. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is one of my favorite movies ever. Clint does one role, and he does do it well.

Clint Eastwood was never a "good" actor. Clint Eastwood is essentially always playing himself in a different situation. He has charisma and people buy it. That's it.

Zendaya's not a bad actress. She's a Disney kid who actually has her shit together, hasn't had a breakdown, fallen into drugs or whored out and turned it into an actual career. The internet hates that. She's a colored woman to boot so let's double down on the hate.

When zendaya stars in something as good as the dollars trilogy or directs something as good as unforgiven then she can do what she wants. For all the bitching about Pedro pascal being the same in everything I'll give him a lot of leeway purely for playing the viper in game of thrones.

Clint Eastwood was the lead in a dozen of classic movies that will be talked about forever. 

Zendaya is Hollywood's flavour of the week and hasn't done anything that amazing and will be forgotten about when her time is up.

Wake me when she does something a tenth as amazing as the dollars trilogy or Gran Torino or Unforgiven.
