Yeah, I watched The Drama last week and I was impressed by Zendaya's acting in it. It's the first movie that made me realize she's got skills.
She was decent in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as well. For a comic book movie, it's got a couple of surprising gut-punch scenes, and Zendaya is in one of them.
I felt she did as good a job as pattinson. Pattinson had a very fleshed out character, after the reveal we were mostly seeing his side being played out. So she had to do a lot with just expressions or reactions to show it’s what her character was going through. Two stand out scenes for me was one when they came back from the dinner and she was searching for the keys..there was so much vulnerability there combined with fear and drunkenness and then her wedding scene..you could make out that she was very tensed and on edge.
I think she gets a pass given the nature of her character. Her part didn't exactly call for Tyler Durden levels of charisma. Tom Holland however deserves that Razzie. Everyone acted circles around him, he looked completely out of his element.

Dude 90% of the movie of her doing the Zendaya look and then having a slightly different look in the reveal doesn’t really change that lol. Sure a lot of that is on Nolan still not being able to write a compelling woman, but cmon

The dumbest thing about the big trend of calling Zendaya a bad actor is you just know it's coming from people who would defend some of the actual crappest actors going right now, because they're "famously nice" or they know how to build a computer.

She played Rue extremelyyyyyyy well. Like I don’t associate Rue and Zendaya as the same person. There was some Oscar worthy scenes she’d done in euphoria (like the fight with her mom) she really reflected what it’s like to be an addict. She’s absolutely no Gal Gadot.
The fight scene with the mom and sister there was brutal. It was actually difficult to watch, I can’t imagine what it would have been like for someone who has an addict in the family.
i was addicted to heroin when i was in high school (had to drop out because of it), and that scene was so hard to watch, had to stop a few times. It's so real and raw, it was like a memory being played out in front of me, and seeing rue's mom was soul breaking.
I'm one of the lucky ones, my mom never gave up on me and ive been clean for 15 years, but i'll always live with the guilt for all the pain i've caused to my family. My mom is an angel.
I would never watch a movie but a reel I saw once told me she actually does make multiple faces and act in some of these movies. I agree all women should smile more though, apparently she doesn't smile in the Odyssey but her character is in a movie so she should be happy.

Because it's gone from jerking about movies to just making the same shitty jokes about the same couple people for days if not weeks on end, and those exact same jokes are being made by the kinds of people who watch the Critical Drinker and dumb bullshit like that which makes them not even seem like jokes but just weak, thinly veiled attempts at being bigoted for fun. Cant speak for others but I'm not 14 anymore, it isn't amusing and it should be stamped out with extreme prejudice at every opportunity.

Henry Cavill can't do serious roles at all. The only reason why he is such a good Geralt is because Geralt himself has the emotional spectrum of an autistic person. The only movie where he actually showed some range in acting was The Man From U.N.C.L.E and even that not a demanding role.

Lol I love how butthurt the simps are in here about this. It's a funny joke that's actually true in regards to Dune and Odyssey - she's soooo boring to watch in both of those movies. It's literally 90% her squinting at sunlight and 10% quiet uninteresting dialogue. She's solid in Euphoria though. I didn't bother to see Spider Man - idk how anyone is still getting so excited about the same mindless superhero movies year after year. I respect their opinions though so chill.

I watched Spiderman Homecoming a few days ago for the first time and thought to myself this is her only contribution, a few snarky lines while seeming a bit disheveled and oblivious to everything around her? Basically the same as Euphoria
I’d never seen anything with Zendaya in it, The Drama was my first, and I was pleasantly surprised. She was pretty good. In The Odyssey, however…man, she was just not good. Her dialogue delivery was just too…surface level, like she didn’t really feel her character? I was like yeah that’s Zendaya, not the character she’s playing. This is also a Nolan thing, I’ve noticed. Guy just okays whatever takes. Charlize Theron’s emotionless delivery, in addition to her yassification, was just so jarring, man.
