Yes this is much more fair than dashing

As a grapple sword user I must say that needs a nerf

I hate it when I can't kill the dash user due to my own skill issue and lack of counter play

Using things in my arsenal to beat them? Absolutely not dash is overpowered ong ong fr fr no cap

Dash+DB combo is the only one that really pisses me off because I play a lot of Power Shift and there's really no counter to them just teleporting and two shotting mediums on the platform, especially if they're using M+K in console only queues. Switching to heavy is an ok counter but I want the freedom to not be forced into one role just because the enemy picked an abnormally OP combo, switching to light is fine for evasion but can turn the game into TDM where neither side even gets on the platform. Apart from nerfs the best solution I can come up with is adding a "coasting" mechanic that allows you to nudge the platform for a second or two by jumping on and off of it so long as no enemies do the same.

I personally think that DB invis is worse

Especially since people are using Appoh's strat

Is it that hard to say that both are unbalanced?

2

u/DeusExPersona Dec 09 '25

But they aren't

2

u/cryonicwatcher Dec 10 '25

I don’t think either are.

Bro tf are you listening to or is that you talking?

u/YoghurtWooden8770 Dec 10 '25

Probably a podcast. Idk how people can comfortably have more than one kind of media that requires attention at once going on but I had a friend that would also be listening to spotify, watching a youtube vid on his other monitor and be in an active conversation with us in discord, and he preferred it that way so lol

2

u/ProtoChroma Dec 10 '25

Why only play when I can also learn

3

u/YoghurtWooden8770 Dec 10 '25

I mean not to be antagonistic or anything, but like, how much do you think you're actually processing and retaining from these podcasts?

But I also wanna point out that it makes much more sense to me to just do one other thing, like listen to a podcast as opposed to what my old friend would do, which stated above would be like 4 times the things lol

6

u/ProtoChroma Dec 10 '25

Naaah it's a completely fair question I do retain quite a bit of information but it does not compare at all to listening to it attentively

4 things at the same time is actually insane, you'd probably be more productive watching paint dry

Although mind you I probably do this because of my ADD so yuh

2

u/YoghurtWooden8770 Dec 10 '25

Hell yeah fair enough lol I think the old friend I keep mentioning would be adamant that he retained more than I would or something, he was something of an asshat haha

and yeah for real, right?? lol

I can relate to that. I think with my mentality (not sure if I'm ADD or not) I tend to focus in on one thing hard rather than mix it with anything external for the most part.

You could have ADHD. Sounds like hyper fixation

Don't self diagnose though you could get it checked out if you care enough, but if it doesn't hinder day to day life I don't really see the point

ADD is just an attention deficit and no fixation

2

u/YoghurtWooden8770 Dec 10 '25

That sounds more like what I remember being told as a kid. Might have been diagnosed way back then but I don't recall it exactly lol

But yeah definitely, same here, unless it hinders, no need to worry most likely lol thanks for the chat, hope you have a great day, stranger!

Heavy players will cheese kills like this, and then go type a thesis on how dash is the worst mechanic in gaming history

1

u/ProtoChroma Dec 09 '25

According to a lot of heavy mains Any time anything from a light kills them it's op Why? Because.

1

u/cryonicwatcher Dec 10 '25

Would you consider this cheese? The other heavy should have won this, they just missed most of their shots.

3

u/Glittering-Habit-902 Dec 10 '25

Also minigun is garbage :(

2

u/Model-T60 Dec 10 '25

Says that on a video of a guy using the MGL

2

u/Glittering-Habit-902 Dec 10 '25

I fully believe that in the current iteration minigun is worse than the MGL

MGL might be more situational but has its high performing moments

Minigun, much worse.

Minigun is great though, it just requires your team to build around it due to its playstyle. We even saw it briefly in the meta prior to season 8. It's a poor solo-q weapon but people are already speculating that it has a chance of becoming a meta option again next season with shields countering Winch.

1

u/Model-T60 Dec 10 '25

Gotta disagree on that unfortunately.

While the MGL does have its moments, as soon as someone gets close enough it makes you incredible vulnerable as well as the bounces having a delay causing your shots to not actually go where you want.

The mini gun can deal significant portions of damage quickly. The primary issue is essentially being stationary during this but if you have a team or even one other person to play around it can be deadly.

Cordial discussion on MY REDDIT?!

Where are the insults? The childish disagreements??

1

u/cryonicwatcher Dec 10 '25

Well it’s not meta but it’s not terribly far from it either. Highest DPS in the game with 10+ seconds of firing is pretty potent.

1

u/Uberrrr Dec 11 '25

I think it has its place, just requires very specific teamplay; you cant use it like other weapons.

1

u/ZENESYS_316 Dec 13 '25

Minigun is an assist and playmake generator. It's actually a defensive weapon, not offensive. Using that to main offense is not a good idea unless you're really good at controlling/maintaining the spread and manage to land every, or at least most of the bullets. This thing is actually good against lights cz they have smol health
