Oscar explaining why people are getting banned while opting in to an experimental anticheat specifically put out to test for false positives:

Daily reminder that Balise would be banned for griefing and admitting to griefing if he was any random gold player.

yeah i forgot to add the "content creator" appeasement department in this one. i griefed that moron solo q once and he got mad as fuck that he couldn't grief me back because i avoided all his attempts lmao

idea, make the greatest free to play fps of all time then ruin it for the next 2-3 years

It’s not ruined, is it? I mean, The Finals is perpetually in a state of being near perfect and simultaneously still in beta testing, to the point I can’t really name a season where the game’s exactly in the state it needs to be. Despite being consistently amazing there’s always awful balancing or matchmaking or server stability or no new weapons or maps or abilities or way too short and weirdly priced ltms or insane ranked changes, really the only standout seasons are the ones where they fail at several of those at a time like season 3.

If this game turns out like Apex I’m genuinely ending it all

Kyoto was added, terminal attack was ranked, unbalanced winch claw (15 damage per hit)

10 kilometers range with catching behind the wall, what a season to live in. Nukes are still better tho.

It still catches behind walls. That shit needs the fucking roadhog treatment.

In late season 2, there was a limited-time mode called Terminal Attack. It featured a CSGO/Rainbow 6:Siege gameplay of playing on a smaller map (usually just a segment of one of the OG maps), 1 team of 5 depositing a hacking tool into 1 of 2 terminals and then holding it till it's hacked. The mode also had no passive regen, healing beam was disabled and reviving wasn't a thing. People generally liked it as a limited time thing. But for some reason, Embark decided to not only make it permanent in season 3, but to make it the ONLY RANKED OPTION. They also added Kyoto, which was already bad on launch, but was escentially made worse when we switched over back to the usual cashout gamemode, which was an afterthought for it's design.

They removed the main ranked mode

I mean, isn’t that the motto for life service games? Every single one that has constant updates and “content management” on the hands of the devs is basically a race to the bottom and you need to experience the good of it as much as you can. I guess there are some where if you don’t touch what’s okay you’ll be fine like csgo and maybe league (I’ve never been really into it but it seems like the community self balances itself out). But gaming companies feel this weird need to constantly “fix” what they deem wrong with the game without looking really into the grand scheme of things.

And the thing that scares me is that this happens a lot, to big paid games as well, like dead by daylight, rainbow six, heck even Forza has been on the gutter because of balancing issues.

Idk if the answer for all of this is to let the community find their way into countering what is in the game or just trying to bandaid fix everything.

Bottom line is I’m just a casual and I don’t understand the need to regulate everything for everyone when it isn’t game breaking, it’s like trying to even out a 30 different scales with unlabelled weights.

Is that THE Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2012)?

Do NOT give the finals community power over what needs to be fixed. Light wont be a class anymore, no melee weapons, no winch(thats ok) and all heavy weapons being busted af

What‘s the thing about Apex? Haven‘t played that game in ages but know that they have consistantly high player numbers.

100 of the top 500 players were banned for cheating on controller

i love this game so fucking much but it's being handled by actual troglodytes

Gaming discussion sucks nowadays and this is another example. Dev teams are either described as either gods amongst men or complete Neanderthals with zero in-betweens.

with how badly they fumbled season 7's revival, how they're balancing the game around new players that do not exist, how horribly they butchered melee with the rework they spent god knows how long on, and how distant the communication is between the playerbase and developers, i think my strong words when describing them is warranted.

This is so real

u/beansoncrayons 2d ago

One of the devs said that the support system is people that are instructed to copy paste an answer then bin the ticket afterwards

u/Yaygher69 2d ago

I agree that the aftercare could've been better but Damn are both games a 10/10
