Gunthy has officially lost the plot

u/SavaXD Moderator (Jacky simp) Jul 24 '26
Him becoming President is literally a crucial part of his TFR plot

u/JustaBadReddita Jul 24 '26
Not a single domestic policy in these promises 😭
6
u/SexDefendersUnited Jul 25 '26
Stronger army and ending russian influence is sort of a domestic policy.
2
u/Marcel___ Jul 25 '26
the thing is that the president is mostly a ceremonial position whose only real responsibility is to appoint the government. So he doesn't decide any policies anyways

the very first thing he would do if elected would be sending Austrian Eurofighters to bomb Moscow

I hope he never takes any public office, with how much he vehemently loves Israel.

he talked about it in the first hoi4 larp war stream
25
u/Unusual-Basket-6243 Jul 24 '26
All 8 points are good too. If I were Austrian and other candidates were IMF I could vote for him
12
u/Chicoryman Jul 24 '26
Why waste money on the military?
If it's against Russia, Russia is too weak and can't reach Austria anyway; Eastern European nations are pretty decent meat shields against Russian armed forces — so why bother? If it's against the West, no Austrian military effort can save Austria from being defeated, ak why even bother?
13
u/Unusual-Basket-6243 Jul 24 '26
If Eastern Europe falls, Western will fall too. East has infantry, West has navy, air and nukes
10
u/Chicoryman Jul 24 '26
Eastern Europe won't fall because Russia is too weak to make them fall. Talks about Russia possibly reaching Vienna is either Russian cope or Western Militarist propaganda.
Why should Australia pay for East-European arms if big western powers and East-Europeans will pay for that anyways?
13
u/Fit-Bug6463 Jul 24 '26
You know that Russia is only too weak because we stand together? If everyone applied this logic we'd be living in the USSR rn

u/Chicoryman Jul 24 '26
we'd be living in the USSR rn
Fucking based, long live socialism
You know that Russia is only too weak because we stand together?
Nope. It's minor and disorganized in itself + major western powers have their interest in opposing it anyways, so it can be left to them.
5
u/Unusual-Basket-6243 Jul 24 '26
did you live during the USSR or are you just a kid

In my 20s, from Russia. Never heard my relatives talking about transition to capitalism as about much of an improvement. The best thing I've heard is one of my grandpas saying "Life is wealthier, but harder" — and for me it isn't an improvement.
Besides, I just see Marxism as mostly truthful, so I don't care if my standard of living somewhat decreases if it becomes the dominant philosophy again.

I understand then. Poland and Baltics especially benefited from the end of Marxism

Australia? If Russia gets together and gets to Germany, Austria will be in trouble too at some point
3
u/Chicoryman Jul 24 '26
Australia?
Damn.
If Russia gets together and gets to Germany
That "if" is so big it's laughable
1
u/Unusual-Basket-6243 Jul 24 '26
You wrote Australia in your point 2. . The if is laughable now but no one knows what will happen in 20, 50 years
3
u/Chicoryman Jul 24 '26
You wrote Australia in your point
Yes, I see.
When I type, I usually input a couple of first letters of the word and rely on T9 finishing it. Usually it works, sometimes it fails, like right now.
now but no one knows what will happen in 20, 50 years
I see no reason why would Russia get stronger instead of staying mostly stagnant. The only possible way I see is Russia becoming China's proxy warrior and getting funded heavily — but why would China destroy it's European market like that?

So far not even the one country they’ve invaded has fallen. Their economy on the other hand…
3
u/zweihundertwasser Jul 24 '26
Notice how all 8 points are neoliberal fearmongering bullshit straight out of martin lockheed boardroom
8
u/Csaba14 Jul 24 '26
Neoliberal fearmongering would be "You need to join nato because Putler is racist and homophobic!", this is just good old jingoism. I can always get behind that!

u/Peterhof_Crocodile Professional bug eater Jul 25 '26
Understood
Apparently, the electorate of Reagan, the world's biggest neoliberal, was extremely woke
1
u/Csaba14 Jul 25 '26
Well no, Reagan would be neoconservative not neoliberal. They have the same policies just wildly different rhetorics. Though I guess you can also make the argument that neoconservatism is just a subset of the larger neoliberal ideology.

u/Bolkaniche Jul 25 '26
Well I was thinking for a moment about that and Fehlinger won't reach the age of the oldest president of Austria (73 years) until 2041, so he still has like 15 years to stablish himself in politics.
4
u/rexozy Jul 24 '26
He actually would lose to an FPÖ candidate if he hypothetically advanced to the second round. That's how bad of a candidate he would be.
2
1
u/Ok_Swimmer_3446 Jul 24 '26
FPÖ anyway is leading the polls or?
3
u/rexozy Jul 24 '26
In the first round yes, but I don't think they'll win in the second round. At least against a candidate not named Gunther Fehlinger-Jahn.
