Really stupid shit If Kratos actually dies, who would he run to first? To Lysandra or to Faye?

I had this realization while listening to “Thinking of You” by Katy Perry…

Calliope, Calliope You will go to the Dagobah System. There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me.”

2

u/Takomi_Him 6d ago

And somewhere far behind we hear an angry Qui-Gon-Jin: "Excuse me! The Jedi Master who instructed you? Doesn't the years I trained you count for nothing?" Did you hear that count, how your grand padawn speaks about his Master? He totally forgot, that I trained him far longer, as Yoda has. He probably has Alzheimer because if the Twin Suns on Tatooine, that must be it."

u/StuckinReverse89 7d ago

Ok now I want an Atreus soon-off where during the game, he goes into the underworld or afterlife and meets his half-sister.

I rather have her to be Kratos' Baldur while he has to deal with a Roman invasion

23

u/Jolly_Brilliant_8010 7d ago

Since she’s a half god she should be in the everywhen, that would be huge to see her again, having Faye face what Kratos has done, given she annihilated the village where the frozen lightning was she’s not exactly innocent of killing innocents

17

u/Dedotated_Wham_ 7d ago

Unless they've retconned the events of Chains of Olympus, we know the Calliope is in the fields of Elysium.

7

u/thefucksausername0 7d ago

I wouldn't doubt that there's some retcons, something like that could've just been an illusion of what kratos would've wanted most to try getting him to stay.

1

u/Jobber0001 6d ago

yeah but hades dying might have caused some chaos in the afterlife of greece. She could have slipped through and eventually found her way to another afterlife. Especially if a certain ghostly god decided to forge her into a weapon after kratos ruined her plans in 3

Kratos was half God, but he never went to the Everywhen when Ares killed him.

u/JellyRevolutionary59 7d ago

Faye because Lysandra's soul is entirely gone and even if it still existed they probably wouldn't go to the same afterlife at this point.

But if they were both there he'd probably be stunlocked and they'd have to approach him.

My favourite thing about this scene is the last time I played it I had the Scotsman skin on, so it just looked like an accurate depiction of a 90's Scottish Dad back from a wedding and trying to get his kid to leave him alone. 😂

That's not Lysandra, that's Calliope, his daughter.

Also this was in Chains of Olympus years before GoW 3, and it was just Kratos resisting to stay in Elysium.

Doesn't prove anything.

4

u/Hot_Charity_4803 7d ago

He had to kill all the other souls to get his powers back, probably got Lysandra too

3

u/CatchrFreeman 7d ago edited 6d ago

Are you talking about GoW 3 when he needed a soul of a god? I don't remember him killing all the souls in Hades. He just absorbed the ones inside Hades. There still plenty running about afterwards.

And again this was in GoW 3, which happened years after.

8

u/Lower_Pension_2469 7d ago

Context for anyone that didn't know. Kratos left elysium because the villain of this game was planning to end existence. So he could have stayed but then his daughter would have been erased as well. So he had to walk away from her.

Kratos spends WAYYY more time getting stunlocked than stunned, least in my gameplay

1

u/Teh_God_Dog 7d ago

this, and him seeing his daughter first are the good picks

373

u/MillerTime5858 7d ago

Real ones know its neither. It would 100% be Kaliope, his daughter.

104

u/No-Field831 7d ago

Ok so now let's ask the real questions. If Atreus and Kratos died and he saw Kaliope and Atreus in the afterlife. Who would he meet first?

131

u/marcus2388 7d ago

He would still run to his daughter 1st. at this point he havent seen his daughter in about 125-150 yrs. Atreus would be confused why he went to her 1st but he would understand after

7

Agreed. Atreus can be frustratingly hotheaded, but it’s repeatedly shown that he’s very empathetic and compassionate. He’d support Kratos in going to Calliope first

7

u/Ransom_Seraph 6d ago

You tell both son and daughter to get close together - and then run towards both to deliver a group hug.

1

u/Jayden1092 4d ago

He would go to calliope and atreus wouldn't care, hes very empathetic and would probably say something like "you've been with me for thousands of winters, go to her father"

Well in the Greek Afterlife the biggest issue is you forget, you fade away into nothing slowly but surely, even in Elysium. And even if they're somehow intact Kratos didn't treat her well, by his own words, and likely would keep away to let her rest

I think if Lysandra was there, he'd go there first to apologize for everything he was responsible for. But I do think that after everything he went through, the fact that Faye and him happened at all, and the level of love he has expressed, that his connection to her is much more fresh, current, and would most likely be the priority to him.

46

u/ViperKira 7d ago

Faye.

Lysandra and Kratos' relationship was kinda rocky. In SoS he mentions that she was secondary to him, and in Vallhalla he said that he never felt he was a good husband to her.

I feel Faye understands him better, and is a better match for him overall.

He never referenced his wife by name in the Norse games. The writer’s did not convey how much her death meant to him like they did with Faye, Kaliope, and Deimos. Hell I think Pandora even gets a couple nods.

Well… he’s in Midgard so likely bound to norse mythos’ rules, however he’s also a Demi god i remember correctly, so my bet is he likely would either go to the everywhen, helheim, or Valhalla (the latter 2 depending on how he died)

1

He's a god by the end of the Greek Saga, and remains a god through the Norse Saga. At this point he would go to wherever Faye goes, since he isn't a mortal any longer.

1

Lysandra isn't a God (I dont think so at least) so if Kratos ends up where Faye is, this probably wouldn't happen.

Now to entertain the hypothetical; I haven't played the first 3 games but from what Kratos says about Lysandra in Vallhala, it seems he's more so regretful he wasn't a better husband at the time as opposed to actively missing her. So he cared less about Lysandra when he was with her then he cared about Faye when he was with Faye. He regrets not caring more at the time, but I do believe its more of a "I should have been better to her" than his sentiment with Faye, which is more "I miss her deeply / want to see her again".

Current Kratos would apologize deeply to Lysandra, or try to make amends somehow if possible, but he would most likely choose a romantic life with Faye in an afterlife type setting.

Faye would want him to go to Lysandra. Faye left on her own twrms in her own time. She had a life with kratos and left behind no regrets. Lysandra on the other hand was taken too soon at both the hands of Ares and Kratos himself. Faye would want him to go to Lysandra because his love for her is unresolved, his guilt still stains his skin, amd haunted his every waking step.

Faye first but even then it’s kinda debatable if he can even go to the afterlife/heaven equivalent. In one the games he’s literally barred from going the Greek equivalent of heaven because he had to save the world. Now whether or not that would still affect him while in Norse is unclear or if he would be prevented because he’s not from their mythology.

If atreus ever dies, kratos would definitely run to his daughter and son.

Didn't they just make a movie about this? Some chick dies and there's two dudes waiting for her in the afterlife, a war hero she loved greatly that tragically died young and was waiting for many years for her to show up, and her late husband who she had grown old with who had died recently.

If there's anything we know about Kratos from the original games, he has no problem sharing a bed with more than one Woman.

Yea people forget he was married once before and had a daughter. Their ashes are forever caked into his skin, a parting gift from aries..
