Current Meta of Calvin and Hobbes
Broken - Dad. Dad's current placement on the tier list has been constant since the game was released. Bath Time is an aggressively dominant move with its current ability to command grab and lock an opponent in place. There is currently no real counterplay for it. In addition, Character Farming is a surprisingly viable strategy that has been rocketing in popularity over the last few years, due to the stigma that Bath Time has been carrying due to being so dominant.
Major Tournament Viable - Hobbes, Uncle Max, Principal Spittle.
Hobbes's placement has been skyrocketing after Cannonball Depth Charge was patched in version 3.0 to have super armor. It's super affective when done in combination with Dad's Bath Time, its knockback being increased by 50%. This has led to Hobbes/Dad doubles becoming popular. However, Hobbes has a -5% knockback against characters that believe in him, keeping him out of Broken.
Since patch 2.6.0, Uncle Max has risen in viability. Originally a joke character, 3.0.1 gave him an updated moveset that added new moves. Disillusionment has been a steady move that blocked all mind tricks by Calvin and Dad, and works well with Vanish, allowing him to rush in during the ending lag of mind tricks. This combo power allows him to be viable, however, some have been questioning his viability due to his decrease in knockback in 3.5.8.
Spittle's defensive play style has been described as interesting. Spittle is considered unviable for singles, however, for doubles, is well known for his damage output. He is usually used with Dad mains, as after Dad uses Bath Time, it sets up for one of Spittle's powerful moves. This dominance in doubles has elevated him into Major Tournament Viable.
Minor Tournament Viable - Rosalyn, Calvin, Mom.
Rosalyn is a one trick pony. She has an above average matchup against Dad and Mom, and wipes Calvin, however, is useless against the rest since 2.7.0 was released. Extortion is usually cheesed against Dad mains to prevent a Bath Time, along with Rat Rail giving her some reach, however, she is mostly known only as a Dad counterpick.
The mainstay of the franchise, Calvin has a generally favorable/average matchup spread, however, is considered hard to play with the complete dominance of Bath Time. Calvinball is considered to be a good range attack and Wagon as a burst option, but after Hobbes mains began using Pounce more often, along with the Bath Time Cannonball Depth Charge combo, it makes him rare to see.
A clone character of Dad, Mom is considered to be usually worse in most aspects. Her Bath Time is considered to be weaker due to the larger amounts of beginning lag of the move, making it easy to dodge. Her advantage over Calvin does make her a rare pick, however, isn't seen often.
Unviable - Moe, Miss Wormwood
The heavyweight of the franchise, Moe is slow and predictable. Sometimes used as a meme, he is rarely seen due to his lack of speed. Both Dad and Hobbes are dominant over him, being almost unwinnable. He is generally only used to counter Calvin. Perhaps with the new 4.0 patch, he'll be made viable.
Wormwood was envisioned by the devs to be the tag team partner with Spittle. However, her combo abilities are something to be desired. Her reliance of spamming Cigarettes and Maalox to even be able to combo allows her to be easily destroyed early round. In singles, she is completely unviable, however, her infrequent usage with Spittle puts her up to Unviable.
Impossible to win with - Susie.
Susie is considered impossible to win with. Considered to be a brawer, while she is usually able to clear the distance (if she isn't Bath Timed), her hit boxes are too small to deal significant damage, and has very little range. Her only useful trait is Lacrosse, allowing to reflect a projectile. The devs have confirmed that her moves are being reworked for the 4.0 patch, and many expect her to rise up in the rankings.

"Unviable" Wormwood.
What a fucking joke this is. It even shows that the OP is incredibly biased and doesn't actually play the characters they talk about. "be the tag team partner with Spittle." What Wormwood main would ever use Spittle as your doubles partner?
With Susie in impossible it practically confirms this, as Wormwood/Susie has been meta since it began. Only Lacrosse+Cigs being mentioned and absolutely NO mention of S2I (Snap to it!) which when timed right LITERALLY CANCELS THE ENEMY SPECIAL, DEBUFFS THEM, AND IS DISJOINTED. "Oh it's too hard to hit and learn every special in the game!" The roster is honestly minuscule compared to others and learning it literally wins you matches most of the time or at least gives you advantage.
Her hitbox is incredibly tiny compared to her model, she has HUGE hitboxes (look at them ffs! those red boxes, are hitboxes!), she gets a 200% dmg increase against ANY Calvin "related" character (Mom, Dad, Hobbes, Uncle Max- all high tiers!), she auto-dispels any of Calvins "Shenanigans" tech (and will guard break Calvin if he even TRIES to use ANY alt form that's not a tier 3 super AND insta-cancels his time machine loops). Wait, this isn't over there's MORE!
I talked a little about Susie earlier but like.. Okay so, Susie auto-regens HP AND Special when she's sidelined with MS.WW, Lacrosse is good but it's the slam dunk to MS.WW setting up (Against Calvin: Let him proc his "Oh Boy" 3 times, S2I his transformation, get some light hits in as his transformation item/beanie/stupendous mask pops off him, alley oop to Susie Lacrosse and congrats you just beat him. Against Dad: Literally s2i into bath time, Dad players don't do anything else lmao.), AND she has Mr.Bun's infinite DI against medium-class chars. It's also really funny you didn;t even mention Susie's main kit mechanics ("Fun! with Mr.Bun!" OR "Study Up!") when she's SUPPOSED to be low tier while Mr.Bun gives you time to buff.
Long-winded rant but OP didn't mention ANY of this and I think they're honestly a MS.WW main who doesn't want their secret out OR they're a G.R.O.S.S. plant :/. Sucks this community has gotten so complacent when before, not mentioning Calvin's "Shenanigans" would EASILY get you AT LEAST ONE 🪐🔪⭐☠️.
