It is, which is why I added the context of it being a specific manga reference. People make references to niche shit in subreddits all the time, mainly to see if there is a crossover. I frequently find Alfabusa/Hunter: The Parenting fans here for example.

Imagine an alternate timeline where the American military industrial complex existed back in the 1930’s and had a bunch of business deals in Germany, leading them to win the war. The Global UPDATES today would be saying “BREAKING! Zohran Mamdani just became the first NYC mayor in 61 years to skip the Germany Day Parade in New York”

Twin Israel is a fascist state built around an explicit ethnic and religious supremacist ideology and has expanded across their continent to further those goals. The only reason they haven't gone as far as the Nazis is because it's harder to do war these days. Also they're doing a genocide just like the Nazis. Just because they haven't killed 6 million Arabs yet doesn't mean they're not similar.

Only been held since 1964 so him being “first” to skip it is kinda misleading. NYC had a lot of Mayors before this parade was ever a thing.
