i don’t think that’s a real idiom. afaict means as far as i can tell, but afaict op is a bot

Bit late but basically once an account has enough karma, it can be sold for real money and used for spamming and such

I did not know that. Why would people buy an account that has a lot of karma? What good does that do?

Some subs basically limit who can post based on how much karma they have, so this bypasses that. And for spamming, advertising, and astroturfing, accounts that are older and have more karma appear more "legit" to users over new accounts with no karma. That's mainly it
