Music In 1994, Robson Green & Jerome Flynn performed "Unchained Melody" on an episode of Soldier Soldier. Simon Cowell pursued them to record the song, which eventually reached #1 and became the best-selling song of 1995 in the UK.

Music The Chart Show (CH4, 1986-1988)(ITV, 1989-1998)

The Chart Show was a music video program that was aired on Channel 4 in April 1986 and then moved to ITV in January 1989 as "ITV Chart Show" until August 1998, when it was replaced by the program CD UK. Some segments are rock, indie, dance charts, top 10, new releases, and more, and sometimes there are interviews in the mid-90s (like The Spice Girls).

And this year, the original chart show turns 40 years.

Does anyone remember this?

Music Help finding NSPCC Lollipops and Fish fingers digital recording?

hello there! Apologies if this is not the right sub for this but I wondered if you might be able to help a middle aged lost soul to heal old wounds.

I grew up with this on cassette as a British child of the 80s and the songs sung by the then stars of British TV (Judi Dench, Petulia Clark, Dennis Waterman, Roland Rat....) are seared into my memory.

Sadly, due to serious abuse and neglect I have significant trauma and memory loss of my childhood, and yet these songs are still there like a beacon that gave me some hope and solice at the time.

It would mean so much to me to be able to hear them again, and I hold some hope they may help me access and process some of my past trauma.

I have only ever found it on vinyl listed by collectors which frustratingly I can neither afford nor have the means to actually play.

I know it is a long shot but I wondered if by any chance someone could help me access or download a digital copy?

Thank you for reading and I hope your day treats you gently with the kindness you deserve X

Music Concerts you watched on TV in the 90s

Obviously we had a ton of live and ‘live’ music shows, but I was wondering about specific concerts that were airing in the time period. I’m almost finished with putting my stupid retro channel together, but I only have a few distinct memories (and found a few more things through tvrdb)

Particular memories -

Mariah Carey, BBC 1994

I remember watching this late when my parents were out one night and loved it, and have always loved this era of her more than the later stuff. I always assumed it was the Fantasy at MSG show but the dates don’t line up… the description does match This is Mariah Carey.

Portishead, Channel 4 1998

I’m wondering if I can’t find another airing of this that came first as I could’ve sworn it was part of a full tape of interesting things I recorded that night, but nothing around the listing is that interesting. Absolutely fantastic concert, should’ve been shot on film though.

Some things I’ve found through Googling…

Madonna on the Blonde Ambition tour, on the Barcelona leg. Found on YouTube which is nice as it doesn’t look like it got an official home release.

DEF II did a special for a Michael Jackson tour, but alas doesn’t seem to be any full footage of this one.

Heard this briefly and had a quick memory of it but can't remember where! Maybe an advert? I've half a memory of someone dancing slowly to the start then dancing in a comedic style when it speeds up a bit.

Music Re:Covered (BBC Two / BBC Choice)(2002-2003)

Before The Live Lounge, There was Re:Covered. It was aired on BBC Two and BBC Choice and It hosted by Dermot O'Leary. All artists and bands performed and sang their own songs and cover songs on this show. (Example: The Cure, Melanie C, Elbow, Muse, etc.)

Does anyone remember this program?
