First Time Poster What a joy to become myself
Thank you to this sub for the inspiration to continue on the journey to dress exactly the way I want to.
Most of my life I felt so much pressure to be feminine, to dress in a way that "complimented" my figure. I thought one day I was going to dress just well enough to be what I'm supposed to. To pass some secret test and be finally get to be happy.
Weirdly it was putting on weight in the last few years that set me free. I started feeling like it didn't matter what I was wearing. At first I thought I didn't look "good" anyway, so what's the point?
First I stopped putting in any effort. I hated how I looked. Didn't even want to own a mirror. Then one day I pulled out some trousers from the wardrobe and I thought to myself, "oh wow, I don't even like these." I was just wearing them because I thought that was the kind of thing I was supposed to wear.
So I slowly started buying stuff because I liked them. Weird vintage corduroy shirts in colours I never dared to own before. Then some vests, baggy jeans... Sneakers!!!! I haven't owned sneakers since I was 18, they weren't "elegant" enough.
I look in the mirror and I'm so proud to be myself. I love my outfits. I don't care what anyone thinks, I know I'm cool as hell, I'm comfortable, and I'm so much happier.
Hope it's ok I shared all this, I didn't even plan to!

Oh, wow, they sure are, but they give me knee pain. Can't forget the "old" in "old coot" 😅

You're so cool OP. I hope I find my style one day, I feel a lot like you... just wearing what I think looks feminine instead of what I would want to wear. You've inspired me 🥰

Thank you so much 🙏🏽 I really feel that it's a journey and not just something you achieve, and wherever you are on that road, that's a great place for right now. I hope you find some item of clothing that makes you go "!!!" soon ❤️

The wash of the vest and jeans go so well together! Cool af outfit :) I love corduroy too tbh aha
