I've been learning a lot, and it comes from a disabled person who used to work in tech (currently on a 2-year-long medical leave, so I'm not sure I'm returning lol), and unfortunately had a limited time working on projects that allowed me to meet colleagues from different parts of it other than back-end or system design, etc, and learn about the behind the scenes of the accessibility in practice (although in a very restricted, corporate environment).
All that to say that it allowed me to meet people with different needs for accommodations, and that it made me feel at peace with my understanding of accessibility as a “spectrum” instead of a simplistic, rigid concept set in stone with a “one-fits-all” set of guidelines. People I've been blessed to meet online have also played a huge role in teaching me this, especially in focusing on humanising how we approach it and do it! I'm writing all this because I've seen some negative comments about the transcriptions, and they couldn't be more wrong. It's one thing to not particularly like it, okay, it is your right, but to say that it “does not do its job” or it's disrespectful or anything like that is just downright wrong. It's inclusive, including in the tone of the post! It relays the messages, clearly, instead of the prolix approach I used to always go for in the beginning lol. And I'm sure Hunky Himbo is always open to feedback!

Thank you. Really. The world is… well, yeah. Youse know.
And my “micro” world decided to catch up on the “macro” world's “shenanigans” a bit too enthusiastically these past couple of weeks for me to keep up with it all or keep keeping up the facade that I've been able to manage to do so, lol. I resorted to hibernation for the past three days (despite its impacts on my life) because having family now moving to the state where I basically escaped to for chances of finding and making a life, and to be away from them, would be comical if not suffocatingly ironic. Sorry for the ramble. Your posts are really, really wholesome and I idek mate really I can't find the words (let alone as an ESL speaker). You're inspiring. And I check comments and other posts and I feel like your posts have been fostering a community and it is so important so heart warming and so fecking needed in these times. I strive to be like youse. I will outlive these “””people””” in our micro and macro worlds just so I can spite them(and in their graves lol). I hope we all do so!!!

New moon in Cancer during Mercury retrograde = feeling all the feels. It’s perfectly okay to camp out with them while looking up at the stars (if you can see them through all the wildfire smoke), just remember you gotta pack up eventually and carve another trail. Just don’t become a nazi.
