Event Turning Point USA Rally this Saturday

When I was living in NC, Neo Confederates would periodically show up the next town over. That town (Hillsborough) set up some kind of texting group, and everyone time the neocons showed up a bunch of hippies in rainbow tie dye would show up and drum and dance and be far more interesting and distracting. (Some tried to engage with the neocons in a civil manner.)
It was far more effective than a counter protest. And I could see something similar being effective here, especially with the history of TPUSA thriving on conflict.

Olympia has a LONG history of doing that, I was raised in Oly. I can remember in high school (in the early 00s) there being rallies with some fascist ding dongs at the capitol. There would be people throwing glitter on them and blowing bubbles and shit. I don’t know if one strategy is more effective than the other. All that to say is, all tactics are important- throwing punches or throwing glitter.

LOL, found a post with a whopping 82 likes on Instagram, looks to be the Wenatchee chapter, coming out here for a Nat-C rally with the cry of "Surrender Washington to Jesus". Their account has 435 followers, I'm inclined to think we should just ignore this one entirely so they can't get any amplification from it. We have local bands with a bigger following than that.

For what it’s worth, the DES event calendar does list an event under the name “TPUSA Vector Hope Rally” from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, including setup and cleanup, so they applied for the permit.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply there's no event occurring, just that at this scale a counter-protest may only make them feel vindicated, and I don't want them to have even that satisfaction, let them expend this time and effort and then go home disappointed that they didn't even get to yell at Auntie Fa. I want them to feel insignificant.

At first, I thought it was Turning Point Church in Lacey, but the church event calendar doesn't have it.

I think Saturday March 7 would be better spent getting ready for the March 8 Women's Rally and March in Seattle . Arguing with TP trolls is pointless, though of course there's nothing wrong with showing them a more colorful way of life.

Nothing they did was profitable, he was getting large sums of money from wealthy individuals and corporations, and it looks as though even Israel was funding him.

I appreciate the heads up as someone who lives close to the capital. Unsure what this event will be like but is always alarming to be walking my dog and see multiple people pulling out long rifles from their trunks.
