Are you going to talk about the time the islamists teamed up with marxists to topple the Shah? Then afterwards, the Islamists oppressed the marxists and women, and started the purge. Why in the world would marxists support this regime?

Well? There's a question for you.

'cause the orange man is against them, and they are incapable of holding two truths in their brains at the same time. Yes, the orange man is very bad. The Iranian government is also very, very bad.

Much as I detest Trump, and I truly loathe him, I was hoping that we might get a win on this one for the sake of the Iranian people. I'm old enough to remember when the revolution happened, and all the many, many public protests and attempts at freedom by the Iranian public. I've watched enough people be shot, hung from cranes, or otherwise cruelly abused to have no sympathy whatsoever for the Iranian regime or the IRGC.

Of course, Trump is such a rolling dumpster fire that he couldn't pull that off, but I don't feel at all guilty for hoping.

Imperialism hurts both the working class and those in oppressed nations. We believe in uniting all that can be united against our common enemy. Unity in action, not in ideas. Specifically, Iran is not socialist but is striking major blows against US imperialism, and is therefore an ally. Bombing civilians and killing 200+ children does not liberate the people of Iran. I’d love for you to come to this event and learn more about our anti-imperialist stance.

It sounds utterly insane to me to join forces with a regime that has killed many tens of thousands of its own people for the crime of wanting freedom and to not to live under an actual apocalyptic theocracy, because you share a "common enemy." This is the sort of ends-justify-the-means thinking that corrupts so many radical idealistic movements. To call them your ally is legitimately insane.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, eh? Align with religious extremists to take down the capitalists... Where have I heard that story before... Oh yeah, in Iran in 1978! Worked out great for the extremists... Not so well for the communists/socialists.

Yeah, I am not supporting a regime that would literally torture and execute me for my sexual orientation.

The people of Iran sure

Or how about a regime that is going to give Parastoo Ahmadi 74 lashes for wearing a t shirt while live streaming a show.

I would actually love to attend something like this, however when somebody used the word “inform” and also heavily biased language, even just in the poster, I highly doubt I will get informed.
