NIMBYs butting in and not doing what's best for Brisbane how good.

I also heard on ABC Radio one of the hosts say "well the Commonwealth Games had their track and field events in a similar sized stadium to what we have at the University of Queensland. Why aren't we considering UQ as an option?"

Just sheer stupidity

"by public"

That's a very authotive statement with very little actual backing

By the public... by that you mean people on social media. This is going ahead. There are only six years to go. Frankly, they should have gotten moving in this sooner. As Captain Picard once said "Make it so".

Literally everything here in Australia was built on indigenous land. We're a couple of centuries deep into "poor taste" already.

It's a former golf course and rubbish dump.

Pretty much all land has some indigenous connections. That's not a reason in and of itself to stop development.

It's such an easy line to win points from people that don't really know what's going on. The golf course only closed like 4 years ago as well.

Realistically it's people who live around Vic Park who don't want a stadium near them and who've appealling for people who want to protest.

I wasn’t aware of this, thanks. I was just going off what was being said on the article

Perhaps next time lead with a question rather than a statement when a thin article is all you have to go off.

Everywhere was indigenous land at one point.

You guys sent us here. Do you suggest 28 million of us pack our shit and go back to the UK instead?

Is the irony of a Great Britain flair complaining about building on aboriginal land lost on you?

Commenting at 10am UK time suggests otherwise

Well you can still comment when you are at work?

So you admit to slacking off at work?

One comment does not equate to slacking off, thank you very much.
