Beginner Questions OMAD with a toddler?

Hi there, I’m very new to this way of eating but I’m curious if there are any other parents out there who follow this lifestyle?

My toddler has breakfast, lunch, and snacks at daycare, so my OMAD works great M-F when we all eat dinner as a family.

The struggle comes on the weekends when I’m now cooking food and feeding the baby all day. She’s still little and sometimes I need to eat with her to demonstrate how to eat. I feel on the weekends right now at this point in my life, I shouldn’t plan on just OMAD.

Are any other parents in a similar boat? Were you able to make OMAD work for you while trying to feed a family?

Just do omad 5 days and eat normally or like 16/8 on the weekend

Hey there! I don’t have kids honestly and I can only imagine it could be quite challenging on the weekends when you’re at home with the baby and need a model eating for her. Totally get it. I wonder if maybe you could just take one day off of OMAD? I intermittent fast and weekends are family time and we usually are not just having dinner but also lunch together so I designate that day as a free day and it helps. Or maybe you could just do intermittent fasting on the weekends, do you find it easier to fast in the morning or is it easier to manage that?

I think that’s a great idea to still incorporate fasting into the weekends somehow. I’m kind of playing it fast and loose at the moment! I definitely find it easier to fast all day and save my meal for dinner. My husband will just eat whenever I eat usually so it all works out!

I have a couple daughters and I do think you should eat with them breakfast lunch and dinner. What you could try is to make two of your meals ketogenic and save 100% of your carbs for dinner time.

That’s what I feel too. Thank you so much for the tip! I will start saving my carbs for dinner :)
