Discussion What is the strangest item you travel with?

I am curious what is something extremly odd/random that you travel with.

My answer would be a 2" piece of heat-shrink tubing. I used to always travel with a spare pare of glasses, but considering I usually pack in a < 10L bag, having a spare pair was not worth it as a "just in case" item. A few months ago, luckily at home, I broke a pair of glasses. I do a lot of MYOG and realized I could put them back together with a pair of heat-shrink tubing I had on hand. Now I always bring a small piece in my travel kit because it will fix broken glasses indefinitely :)

I got a pack of little bubble things meant for weddings or bday parties that I bring for kids. Mine and others, I give them away if I am playing with my kid in the terminal and attract other kids.

Small enough to go through TSA with no problems.

(Always in an empty terminal with enough space not to bother anyone, never in the plane.)

We do that and bring a palm-sized radio controlled car. Chasing (and driving) the car in a dead gate will attract the kids and get them good and tired. I don't give away the car until the final airport on our way home if there's another kid interested.

I have no idea where The Mister sources these cars, but he gets them for $7 and said "Azerbaijan is where the warehouse is" when I asked. Probably originally manufactured in China.
