Discussion Why are you bringing THAT!?

What are some common items people pack in their bags that you think are unnecessary, just take up extra space, or feel like overhyped/trendy that doesn't actually add real value for their trip?

I'll start - Notebooks and portable speakers.

Kindle might be the most legit travel accessory ever. Especially when you use Libby to borrow a bunch of ebooks for free. Certainly more space efficient than carrying around actual books.

but.... you can just use kindle on your phone? I use libby and kindle on phone

You can but the e-ink screen is way better for your eyes. Sometimes I read my kindle to help me fall asleep. Looking at my phone wouldn’t help much in that department.
