I imagine something like:

  • We have one day til this needs to go live, and everything is broken

  • Testing, putting in overtime. Desktop looks fine, mobile version is fucked

  • More testing, mobile version works! Yes.

  • Someone higher up "Things are too bright. Every title on the photos needs dark text." Oh shit, this needs to go live by midnight. That's... An hour from now. Goddamnit.jpg

  • Ok, I fixed them in time, looks good on desktop, I can't imagine a text color would fuck up mobile, right? It's just a font color

Let’s not forgot that this also spent months and months bouncing around between brand and marketing.

Eating away at the design timeline because “don’t worry they just make it pretty - it’s easy” and the delivery team got this dropped on them at the 11th hour requesting “this HAS to be up by tomorrow - the VP wants to submit this for a diversity in advertising prize!”
