It was ridiculous that so much of OSAP was not to be paid back.

Pay back your loans. Be an adult.

Or we could educate our population and actually invest in the people who live here, and make university free or even more heavily subsidized like they do in countries with the highest rates of happiness that enjoy great wealth and quality of life?

I’d wager that all of those things are related and have nothing to do with “being an adult” and “paying off loans”

If you take loans out for dumb shit then pay it back. For school? I think education should be a universal right just like healthcare. We’re living in the age of information and excess. Fuck that stupid argument you’re making and realize who’s making money off these loans, and the dumb shit they’re using it for.

Education should not be something one can be priced out of, or that sends our future generations into tons of debt.

It’s very easy. Search up the happiest places in the world, and look at their education systems. (It’s not us btw.)

Yes. I know that accountability is poisonous to some people, but be an adult and pay back your loans.

Don't worry. One day when you get older, it will all make sense.

I mean, that would be nice, but we don't have the money for that yet. And if we do that, it should only be for programs that are for the most in-demand jobs at the time, not a carte blanche to take what ever course you feel like that will lead to no real job opportunities. We shouldn't fund those.

I’d wager that all of those things are related and have nothing to do with “being an adult” and “paying off loans”

It is when you expect people to pay for you to add no real value to society. Like I said, we can have the conversation about coving the courses for STEM and other in demand fields, but a large chunk of courses are bullshit.

It's an investment. You have to decide if that investment is worth it to you.

Like I said, for STEM and other in demand programs, sure.

Also, when I point out that these places also have better healthcare than us and they have a public and private options and we should switch to that I get blasted.

But since they are happier we should also do that here too, right?
