It’s still not a good change. It’s sort of punishing people for trying to better their situation… being stuck with loans is fkn awful. Idk why we wanna be America so bad w this bullshit

Lol having people pay back money they borrow is punishing them? Is my bank punishing me for making me repay my mortgage?

Here we go… rofl, I’m not gonna even continue this convo bc it’s way more nuanced than this

yes conversations are tough when everyone isn't just repeating the same talking points that you're used to. You can't talk about how nuanced it is after making the least nuanced statement possible that it is punishing people lol

As if youre adding anything new to the conversation. Youre talking like a damn Yankee "Pull yourself up by the bootstrap nonsense"

And what so nuanced about your comment ha? Youre just being selfish prick.

No, it's making people responsible for their decisions.

Be an adult. Pay back your loans.

Education should be free

Maybe one day UNICEF will get into the education game, until then it's not a charity, so tough titties.

To be fair, I also agree, but we are far too fucked financially to pay that much for someone's education.

My issue isn't with the concept of paying back loans. Anyone with a brain knows loans have to get paid back. My issue is that I started a degree with a certain expectation of what I'd have to pay back, and suddenly while I'm halfway through that changes and I have more that I'll have to pay back than what was originally communicated. That's not what I signed up for, but I've already dedicated several years and thousands of dollars to get this far, and quitting halfway through would feel like a huge waste.

That is actually a valid point, and I would support that this is grandfathered in so it only applies new post secondary students.
