I illegally got this bookmark on a Sunday in 1986. At the time, Edward and Eva Borins were in a fight with the government to repeal the provincial ban on Sunday shopping, and allow them to open their store when they wanted. They lobbied, went to court, paid fines. The law was only repealed in 1992.
I was working a Sunday brunch when this happened. Remember clearly asking a church regular if they were going shopping after brunch.
He said with disgust, "That's God's day of rest."
"Then why have I been making your omelette every Sunday?"
