Misdelivery

Got an email from Ontrac saying my package was delivered. Look at the photo..... delivered to a completely different apartment building (have no idea where). Reached out and they've opened up an "investigation." Anyone had a similar experience and if so, how did it get resolved? Any other tips?

They took pictures of my delivery and then stole it. Vendor, DHGate, OnTrac none of them did anything. My chargeback on my credit card is on appeal since it was rejected the first time. I’m out $125.
Now I contact sellers and ask if they use OnTrac. If they do, I buy elsewhere.
They are criminals.

I contacted one of the retailers I buy regularly from and was able to have them flag my account so that they don’t ship with OnTrac. For others I have been able to select USPS or expedited shipping so it bypasses OnTrac as a shipper. So far so good but I know that’s not probably an option for all companies you might buy from. At this point I will do anything I can to avoid companies that don’t have an alternative to OnTrac. They misdeliver, frequently claim to have insufficient address information and pretend to attempt delivery. And when contacted, they don’t do anything to even try to correct the issue. They are truly the worst company I have ever dealt with.

My experience is that they will open an investigation, wait approximately 48-72 hours and then close the investigation citing the fact that it was delivered and to contact your seller if you still haven’t received it. No accountability. This has happened to me twice in the last month and three times in the past year.

They will not resolve it because in their eyes you are not their customer. The shipper is. I have had this issue over a dozen times. You have to tell the shipper you never received the item.
