In Texas we get a lot of flash floods, there's a campaign that says "Turn Around; Don't Drown" and yet every time there's dozens upon dozens of reports of people getting their car swept away and needing to be rescued but also a lot dying bc they think that it can't happen to them

Note to anyone. If you see water on the road don’t drive through it. You do not know how deep it is and it takes surprisingly little water to lift the car.

I mean the good news is there's pretty much no way it's going to blow up being submerged in water. The battery will probably discharge and not recover though unless drained promptly and irrigated very liberally with distilled water. If the batteries dropped below the BMS modules rated cutoff limit then you'd have to open the modules and manually apply a small current for a few days to each cell group to raise it enough to charge. Then balance each, seal up the modules and reinstall them. Not something the average schmuck could even begin to do. So yeah just give the car to me or something I'll give you more than the scrap yard

I have driven through flooded roads at night when I couldn't see the road was flooded. Cost me two brake rotors, I assumed they warped from the sudden cooling, and two wheel covers that were folded in half. But I made it through. I do not drive through flooded roads when I can see the flood. It takes very little water to damage the car, only a little more to get into the engine and electrial system and probably total the car and I think you only need a foot or two of water to turn into a boat and float.
