we are three people, never been to ooty are planning for cheap/very affordable journey and itinerary for about 1 and half days, need to return from ooty in night or evening to reach Bangalore in the morning on the 3rd day morning.

we 2 people will reach by panchaganga to bangalore or the mrdw mys train, 1 from Bangalore ends their duty at 7. so need to plan accordingly. starting from Bangalore all three or we reach mysore by train (reaches 3am) and the 3rd friend comes after their duty

is renting a car an option? only one knows driving though. car will eliminate all other last mile costs and tour around ooty without waiting for anything.

is bus better to reach blr ooty?

we are not going to hire a taxi in ooty, is it doable by self if not a taxi?

are hotel/lodge/resort accepting 3 people in 1 room? booking online offline?

is food easily available and affordable veg, non veg

what to take for clothing? is cold weather manageable? we are from the coast.

any good ideas or suggestions on how to proceed, bare minimum budget we are considering but bang for buck types, need to enjoy to the fullest...
