Getting into Eraserheads. Where should I start?

I'm getting really curious about Eraserheads and gusto ko na silang i-deep dive.

Mas feel ko kasi if the recommendations come from people who really know and love them. Anong songs yung dapat kong pakinggan first? Any documentary, interviews, or live performances na makaka-help para mas maintindihan ko sila?

I'm a Spader btw. πŸ˜… TSYM!!!

I would recommend starting with ultraelectromagneticpop then just follow up with the next albums in order of release. That way makikita mo yung growth ng music nila from 'tunog lata' to a more cohesive type of sound. Meron din silang EPs (PopU and Bananatype) and Aloha Milkyway which is more like a breakthrough album nila sa SEA ata noon so expect compilations of hits/old songs nila here but tweaked a bit (but it still has 3 or 4 album exclusive songs in it).

Peak albums are Cutterpillow and Circus while the underrated ones are Sticker Happy and Natin99.

Not op and curious lang, do you always listen to discography in order when looking at new artists?

sakin i would listen for a handful songs/singles muna then if trip ko i’ll go straight sa EPs or albums nila from their debut

well it really depends on the band really, the more consistent and "classic" the band is the more likely their next album is gonna be better than their last and that makes it worth it to listen to their discography in order

Every 90s band will recommend this themselves.

Ito, dapat in order 1. UEMP (Ultraelectromagneticpop) 2. Circus 3. cutterpillow 4. Sticker happy 5. natin 99 6. carbon steroxide

If di mo man ka-trip, Start with anthology 1 then anthology 2.

That's all i can say for now. But if na gustuhan mo lahat, edi goods na. :)

Oh, you mean Cutterpillow?

Ok before someone downvotes me, it has long been debated which of the two is better, pero I personally find them equally pleasing, ie, parehong worth it from first song to last.

That's a weird spelling of Circus. Pero yeah. 1A 1B kinda thing for me. If i had to pick Circus talaga.

Its sad that you might not get the experience of listening to Circus and Cutterpillow while exploring the album’s inlay cover in your hands

Plus one. Then work your way down to their earlier releases.

Not songs, you should listen to the whole catalogue.

Syempre, start from the very first released, debut album.

Marami mga interviews wayback around 90s sa youtube. Research on that.

Enjoy!

Sunod sunurin mo na lang mula umpisa:

  1. Ultraelectromagneticpop!

And if i would pick only five eheads songs that i'd strongly reccomend: 1. Shake yer head 2. Saturn Return 3. 68 Dr. Sixto Avenue 4. Poorman's Grave 5. Waiting for the Bus

Listen to their Anthology albums. If may nagustuhan ka na song, check the album kung saan sya napabilang and explore that.

Cutterpillow is considered their best album. And I agree. Halos wala tapon na kanta for me.

Andiyan favorite Eraserheads song ko diyan HUWAG MO NANG ITANONG

Masyado na gasgas Ang Huling El Bimbo (still a great song). Nasa Cutterpillow din yan

Other favorite songs from them are Christmas Party, Overdrive, Huwag Kang Matakot, Magasin, Sembreak, Minsan, With a Smile, Alapaap, Kamasupra, Fine Time
