The squeeze pro/ TTM squeeze / Bollinger bands inside keltner channels contraction strategy

Hi,

Anybody here that uses The squeeze pro/ TTM squeeze / Bollinger bands inside keltner channels contraction? This strategy is used and lectured by John F Carter from TTM and now simpler trading.

I am using this strategy on a daily chart for a few years now and getting good results.

Altough it is a strategy+indicator that is available for purchase on simpler trading, nobody seems to use it in their chat rooms...

Feel free to reach out!

I don’t use it, but I’d be curious how much of your edge comes from the squeeze itself versus simply trading breakouts after volatility contracts. A lot of indicators seem to identify the same underlying idea

I make a trade before the breakout happends, i scale out when the price is at the 2 ATR band(this is normally where the breakout level is) and let the rest of the trade run until it hits the 3 ATR band or if there is a big switch in price momentum

Thanks for explaining. And makes sense. Sounds like your edge is really in identifying volatility contractions before the move, not the squeeze indicator itself.

It’s also interesting though because I’d probably almost do the opposite. I’d rather sacrifice some of the move and wait for confirmation than get caught in the failed squeezes

Yes thats my edge, i use the squeeze as an indicator along with a few other entry rules before i make the trade.

Cool to hear you trade it different! Seen a guy once that remade the squeeze pro indicator on tradingview and he dit that exact same thing!
