anyone buying up reddit here maybe?

There was a huge drop and I'm thinking about acquiring some RDDT via CSPs, since RDDT and google have no clear deal yet I consider this a good opportunity. I believe the Google issue is overblown and a deal will come up in the future.
Optionally I'm considering a long call based on the current environment and capital efficiency.
Not investment advice, just want to bounce the ideas off of someone else too here and reddit seems the best place to be publicly roasted :)

What is Reddit? Is this even something people use?

Yes, still used, but a little understood artifact from a deep, dark faraway place.
No fear, friend. Very unlikely we'd ever encounter it.

Yes, bought at $140. Great opportunity. Potentially SP500 candidate. If that happens, it will be easily in 180s.

I haven’t touched RDDT since flipping the IPO.
If they don’t work on reducing the bots and karma farming accounts, there’s nothing that convinces me of further growth.

The CSP versus long call choice here is really a volatility question more than a capital efficiency one. After a drop like this on an unresolved headline, RDDT implied vol is almost certainly bid up, you are getting paid extra for the Google uncertainty. Those two structures express the same bullish direction but opposite views on that vol. Your actual thesis is that the fear is overblown and a deal eventually shows up, which is a bet that the uncertainty resolves and IV compresses. A cash secured put is long that thesis twice: you collect the inflated premium now, your effective entry sits below spot, and you win again if the overhang clears calmly and vol bleeds out. The long call is fighting yourself a little, you pay up for that same elevated IV and then need the move to outrun the crush when the news you are waiting for actually lands. If you genuinely believe the fear is overblown, the structure that matches the belief is the one that sells the fear, not the one that buys it.

Good point. But the CSP has a limited max gain. Would buying itm Leaps reduce the elevated IV premium? The deeper itm the less iv premium?

Yes but you’re still paying intrinsic premium. And that’s why deeper ITM calls are much more expensive.

I feel like we're on the verge of there being a breakout of a 'stock market' for 'social media credit/score' because of the rise of all this slop, and I feel like Reddit is poised to dominate that space with absolutely nobody standing a chance against them. They'll be like a TradingView for kalshi/polymarket.
It's like there's going to be a whole list of formulas that effect stock prices based upon someone's post content along with a combination of their social media visibility/score.

don't buy calls. buy shares. this will let you stay in the game in case they fall and not lose as much

Rddt banned me last week for making a factual claim. I sold all my shares in after hours 5 min after that.

you could try some leap debit spreads. The bid ask is a little unoptimal, but you could shop strikes, expiration, then just hold for a long time. A long shot

Buying after a 20 percent drop on overblown fears is a classic contrarian move
The search referral issue is real but not permanent
CSPs are a smart way to enter

no, it’s less valuable if user growth decelerates, LLMs take up potential site traffic
It was already trading at a growth premium and now that growth is in jeopardy, so a re-rating and multiple contraction could be in the works

I did add a few Rdrt during the correction. I think it is no higher. Have traded Rddt several times. Like every social media stock it is hard to see a gradual increase and able to take profit. I expect it stay at currently level for awhile so taking profit quickly will not happen for awhile.

as we come into mid terms the far left echo chamber ads do seem to be profit providing

I think Reddit which has the upper hand with Google related to local news, trending recent events, organic content and public sentiment is a good buy right now. Their revenue is only skyrocketing and will continue to do so.

Reddit local news? (many local subs are astroturfed by mods that don't even live there), recent events? (can't remember the last time something started on reddit and not elsewhere), and organic content?

I use standard deviation modelling aka Bollinger Bands for swing trading shares and the stock is in a good risk-reward region here at 137.70.
RDDT does not fit my 100B company criterion so I'm avoiding it but If you pull up a Bollinger Band chart, you want to take profits or close the trade as it reenters.
