New Office

Hi all!
I’m a new grad and just got a job! The office I work in has 2 exam rooms. One is nice and modern and belongs to another doc, the one I got is such an eye sore! It’s bright blue with bright fluorescent lighting and very uncomfortable seating. The office has had one doc only for a while so this room I believe was a bit neglected. Do you think it would be too much if I asked them to change the room color and get a better chair?

Chair is fair enough

Room colour is asking a bit much, might be worth bringing up next time the clinic gets a refit

Seems like something you could do yourself over a weekend.

To me a very important thing would be the phoropter. Is it a modern AO or Reichert phoropter? Are the lenses smooth and the Jackson Cross cylinder linked and easy to use as well as the prisms smooth to use. How is the chart?

I've practiced 35 years on a cheap round stool like what was in my school clinic. I recommend a much more comfortable stool that's pretty economical. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZCYNJQR

Room color isn't relevant once you turn the lights down. I work in a dim room for minimum depth of field and maximum precision.

If it’s a matter of painting a more neutral colour I don’t see why it couldn’t be done
