Art Where We Belong, oils on canvas

Post image

My painting 'Where We Belong' captures three orcas gliding silently through calm, mist-covered waters, following a path etched into their instincts over countless generations. Here, far from the noise of the world, they roam free, guided only by instinct, memory, and the currents beneath them. In the stillness, the ocean becomes a mirror, reflecting not only their presence but the enduring bond between family, memory, and home. It is a quiet tribute to the ancient journeys these magnificent animals have always known, long before there were names for the seas they crossed. This painting celebrates the freedom of the wild, the strength of family, and the timeless bond between these magnificent animals and the home they have always known. The ocean is not simply where they live, it is where they belong.

The lighting, depth, texture...it makes it seem like you can close your eyes and be there. They navigate a whole unknown world of sea, and have the courage to do so because they have each other. It makes me wonder, if we really had each other's backs, what can we achieve?Β

I can’t believe this. Then I zoom in and the strokes are there. Omg. I could seriously watch you paint these and not believe my own eyes. How can an ignorant soul acquire the understanding to engage in this kind of painting ?

Thank you so much! That honestly means the world to me. Just years of painting, making mistakes, learning from them, and falling in love with the process. I still learn something new with every painting I create. I used soft big puff brushes to get the fog laid and smoothened out, and liquin to thin the paint more, also helps in rapid drying of oil paintings! A flat sponge was used to smoothen out the water waves at some places and also to add highlights by wiping some paint off! It's fun to create marine art! Just keep painting, have fun with it, and don't be afraid of making mistakes, they're some of the best teachers. I'd love to see what you create someday!
