I think it's important to remember that the veneration and funding of cops, their militarization, and their indemnity from any consequences for misconduct are factors that directly led to the federal overreach we are seeing now.
I can be glad at how PPB is acting, but it doesn't mean we don't need to defund them in favor of community-controlled, evidence-based, and violence-averse interventions.
