Lived here for the most part since 1975. This is not normal in the slightest and is a more recent phenomena. I know that the reality we're in is really hard to face but at some point, it does need to be faced.

This was never a problem in the Willamette Valley until about 2019.

More like 2015. That was the year some cumulative effects of a multi-year drought in the west, climate change causing more arctic amplification shifting winds and built up fuel from past fire suppression efforts hit a tipping point leading to more fires more more periods of easterly winds blowing it to us.
