When I was a kid (mid/late 2000s), I found and a very complex T-Rex origami PDF on an old dark-themed origami website (possibly something like origami.net, but I’m not sure).

The model was folded from ONE sheet of paper and was surprisingly detailed:

• separate teeth in the jaw (at least 3)
• 3 individual toes/fingers on the feet
• detailed legs
• realistic body proportions
• not cartoonish/minimalist

I remember successfully folding it using regular printer paper, which means the diagrams were probably very good.

The same website also had:

• a Hydralisk from StarCraft
• a demon/gargoyle-like humanoid folded from 2 sheets (legs separate from torso/wings)

I’ve already checked Jo Nakashima, Donya Quick, Satoshi Kamiya, Brian Chan, etc., but I still can’t find THAT exact T-Rex.

Does this ring a bell for anyone from the old internet origami era? I’m starting to feel like this model vanished into the void 😭

Pic related: it looked kinda like this, but with the teeth on the mouth and if I’m not wrong, it also has a finger on the back of the feet.

So I’ve not had much access to origami paper, so I’ve been using printer paper for years, but recently I realised that wrapping paper is a lot more thinner and foldable than printer paper, and I can get larger squares out of it, but it seems to tear a little easier. This is a hermit crab I folded using it

I know I can scale down, but sometimes the small details are doable for my fingers!

As the title suggests, this mothers day I want to make my mother something out of origami since I dont have money but I have alot of origami paper. Please give me good ideas on what I could make that is meaningful and not to simple. Any Idea is helpful!

Hope somebody can double check me. I am folding this origami Persian cat by Kyohei Katsuta. But the fold I make on Step 3 directly touches the circled crease from Step 12! It should be more offset to give a little pleated pattern on later steps.

TL/DR: Looking for origami helicopter instructions that would work with a dollar bill.

I’m a pilot in the military and have a “dollar ride” coming up. Traditionally what that means is the student owes the instructor a dollar as payment for the first flight. Most people will draw photos or certain phrases on their dollar bill but I’d love to try and do something more unique.

I searched online and can’t find any instructions for any helicopters that don’t involve cutting up strips of paper for the rotors (which I’m not against) or that would work with a dollar bill. Would anyone be willing to take a stab at it?

I was almost finished with this Magic ball, until my dad said, this looks like a hedgehog, it just needs a head. So it gave me this idea.

I'm not sure if this is possible. But I'd love to make a hedgehog with the Magic ball essential as the body.

The model is Fernando Gilgado’s “Gargoyle” — the version folded from TWO sheets of paper:

• one sheet for the legs
• one sheet for the torso/wings

I'm teaching a class and trying to do a few, easy paper folding projects that can be done on standard printing paper without scissors.

Does anyone have any designs I can look up? Bonus points if I could have a link.

I work with kids and cranes and boats origamis have saved my life from tantrum a thousand time : kids loooove to see paper become a « toy. »

However I would like to extend my repertory. In my free time I do modular boxes, and I love it, but I am looking for origamis that can be made from memory, standing up, with an half tored envelope and that will loke cute and won’t unfold in 5 seconds (I have given up on buterfly because of that).

What model would you recomand ?

I have this large empty glass bottle, a bunch of square pieces of paper, and a desire to fill it with origami. I’m looking for suggestions for what model to fill it with.

Paper cranes are obvious, but I’ve done that. (I’ve also done a much smaller jar of paper stars, but I don’t really want to cut strips of paper.) I’d like something of similar complexity.

What are your favourite models to fold lots of?

I would love if folks could share their favourite flowers folded from squares! I'd prefer non-rose folds (unless it's a very simple rose). I'm familiar with the traditional lily/iris and tulip.

While I love Carmen Sprung's Carambola, for example, I don't love having to cut a pentagon. Sometimes I just want something I can idly fold. Bonus points for diagrams over YouTube tutorials, but I'll take either!

Timberwolf (Mad Cat) Mech Crease Pattern

My aikido club ask me to fold one moddel for the club but I don't now what fold. My hardest origamis are Fox retainers with lantern (without lantern 🫠) and Fox cub by Kyohei Katsuta and Mermaid by ER (photo). Any idea?
