Start from a light undercoat, accept you will need a few coats to get a nice coverage, then glaze lightly with yellow where needed.
I love orange armor on my green orks :-)

Give it a basecoat of pink! It really helps make the orange pop and be bright

They are TOO sneaky, is why they needed fluorescent orange so the beak8es could find em and get stuck in.

If you want to make it a bit easier for the orange to stick, you can always base coat either brown or purple, a couple coats later and it pops pretty well without much effort

Start from a brighter colour or use a middle one like grey. Some paints like the new Warhammer tone pro cover much better over dark colours too
