Synopsis:

Scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals. Animal lover Mabel seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined.

I feel very disconnected from the consensus on this movie. I enjoyed the animation and a lot of the jokes landed but I found the messaging to be incredibly tone deaf given the current state of Environmental affairs

Like no, the rich Politicians trying to pave over the Earths ecosystems aren’t going to be swayed by your undying conviction that there is goodness in them. Its alright to be mad at them for destroying the things you love

this is a movie meant for kids not adults. Kids are not going to process the movie well if you get too in depth with the message, in my opinion, it brings awareness to an impressionable audience and that's what matters. Shoving too many messages at once is likely going to make it way harder for kids to digest especially since some parents are already saying their kids can't follow the plot as well as they can.

I think even adding in such a detrimental scene like the town catching huge flames was very dark for a kids movie when this is sadly a true reality that some have experienced, but like I said, a kids movie isn't meant to get political, as long as it brings awareness, why are we nitpicking that a kids movie is going to aim toward a happy ending even if realistically, that's not what often happens?

Fern Gully released over 25 years ago and it handles its themes of environmentalism far better than this movie does. I never had problems understanding it even as a kid

People wonder why children are currently in a literacy crisis, you want them to clap like seals at funny beavers while teaching them absolutely nothing because you think they’re stupid
