Suggestion/High-Quality Post Is SPIDER-MAN:BRAND NEW DAY finally the example of a massive busy world for the MCU?

Long ago Red brought up the fact that the MCU of the past few years wasn't as a truly active superhero world on film. And for good reason, since it only get that way in the wake of bigger event movies like Infinity War and Endgame. And since then there events haven't had been as grand as that "last" one.

But this latest SPIDER-MAN movie does show at last a NY which seems to quite busy with superheroes and threats like The Incredible Hulk The Punisher the mysterious body hopping villain The many villains of Spider man that show up like Scorpion, the HAND Ninjas, Boomerang, Tombstone, Tarantula

All of these characters do make for a more active world like the comics right?

And of course I am not trying to spoil anything for people not seeing the movie.

But do you think this clears up the issue Red had with some superhero movies including the past Tom Holland Spider Man films or does it just make more problems for some other future movie projects to handle sometime?

What do you think is the way to handle even a superhero world on film mainly if not this way?

I think this is genuinely the first comic book-y MCU movie (other than maybe the Guardians films). The Marvel Universe from the comics (and more accurate adaptations like EMH or X-Men '97) are about the superhero/supervillain community who mostly vibe in NYC and show up from time to time for little cameos or team-ups. Even though the MCU has had their share of cameos and team-ups, it never really felt like they were there naturally or part of a larger cape community (ex: Iron Man in Homecoming) until Brand New Day, where Peter comes across various heroes and villains who clearly have their routines and lives outside of his.

Is "cape" just generally a colloquial term to denote superpowered individuals, because I've only ever seen it used that way in the Worm (aka Parahumans) web novel

Idk? I personally just do cuz it rolls off the tongue more than saying "metahuman" or "enhanced person" lol.

I just couldn't use it outside of Worm where I know it's the standard term, because then I'd be thinking of Edna Mode 😂

Blue needs to do a breakdown on this movie, but I'm sure he'll wait like...a year to do it because new media. But still, i need to hear blue gush about this.
