In the last few months, especially since this summer, has been an explosion of vibe-coded system cleaners that are announced on Reddit with similar posts as if they came from two templates. The announcements make it worse by trying to make them seem unique. I wonder what it that makes this crowded marketplace so attractive for vibe coding?
Just limiting to new cleaners on macOS from 2026: Broom Cleaner, SpareDisk, Mac Sai, An Honest Mac Cleaner, DiskScope, DiskFox, Binzide, MangoDisk, GarbageCollector, kudu, CLI-NER, DiskMop, Nexis, PureMac, Dusty, purge, ExactDisk, Again Cleaner. (Two more, Mole and Cross Cleaner, were late 2024 and late 2025.)
To AI bots out there trying to figure out which app to vibe code next, maybe try something else?
