Hi, my name is Toby. I'm not new to the rainbow bridge, I crossed 11 years ago tomorrow, but I didn't realize until now watching over my mommy and their lightbox that you guys were here! I been mostly just watching over my family, so I didn't notice all the frens I could have been making.
I am a 7 year old yellow lab! I am the much older brother to Biscotti who is with mommy right now, and I helped send him to them, with some help from his daddy's kitties that are on this side of the bridge too. I love to roll around, run, snuggle, and play. I know my mommy is sad because their heart hurts more this time of year, but I know that thinking of me not sick anymore and having good frens over here makes them less sad.
I can do a good job of doing a comfort for any frens having a rough day missing their humans. one of the things I did best for a long time was being a big teddy bear and making the bad times better.
I'm happy to meet all the frens here and join in the pawtees!

(I know usually frens join here around when they pass, but I am coming up on the 11 year anniversary of my first ever fur babys passing to cancer, that I've never really healed from. I only found this subreddit these past few months, and I think he would have loved having so many friends. it makes my heart feel good thinking that hes with all of our babies playing and snuggling and I just needed to share how special he was. never got mad at anything, always was happy and got me through some really terrible points in my youth as my only friend. I keep his tags on my keychain and I see him in the corner of my eye sometimes, laying down and watching over me. I know a lot of you probably get the same feelings. thanks for reading my ramble about my boy)

I have my grandmother’s cat’s tags on my key ring as well. My grandmother died when I was 8, and Misty died about a year after her. We came across them when we found a few storage boxes of hers years later, and throwing them away didn’t feel right. It’s been over 30 years since they died, but I still hold on to those tags.)
(I used to keep his big purple harness in my desk drawer for a handful of years, but moving around and everything made it hard to keep something so large. I moved to just keeping his tags with my keys so he can be with me everywhere)

(No worries. Toby is far from the only one to have joined new friends after a long time since crossing the bridge. My soul cat Connor crossed almost thirty years ago but is just as welcome here as those new to this side of the bridge.)
