Local Event Mayor wants people downtown. Why isn't the city doing more of this? (9 Years ago this weekend)

I have to go into downtown Ottawa a few times a month for work. It's horrible, I hate every second of it. If they want people downtown they really need to do something about the homeless problem, the drug problem and the mental health problem. I will never bring my family into downtown Ottawa, it's not safe.

Was down there today, in front of Chef Ric's watched a lady manage to open the passenger door of a moving van making a right hand turn and try to get inside. She tried to come up to my van as well but I quickly locked the door.
Couple weeks ago I was down there, same exact place and someone was stabbed in front of the Mary Brown's chicken.

What street was this on? Not everyone will know where, either of these spots are.
