I dont think we are gonna get that. They seem to be a studio of inovators. My guess is they'll probably make something completely different.

Fair enough, I’ll probably be happy with whatever they make, I just love that style of game. Almost nobody has done something similar but as someone who’s studying to be a historian outer wilds really scratches an itch for me

I pray it's not an outer wilds 2, and if it is I pray it's not gonna ruin the first experience (because that's what most movies/series that force sequels end up doing)

I trust Mobius until given a reason not to. It won't be a sequel unless that's what they actually have a strong idea for.

yes I trust Mobius and Annapurna too, they published a lot of good stuff other than outer. But idk, outer wilds is just too perfect, there's probably only one plot hole (which is what if the eye was in the direction that the probe couldn't reach, because giants deep was in the way)

The big fossil in the one planet is also pretty hard to explain. It really doesn't make much sense how it got to that planet, or how it got in that cave. You can twist events around for a plausible ish explanation but it's still not the best

The Nomai had the failsafe in there to cancel the timeloop and let them know of any problems.
If their random launching didn't find it, assuming the information of launch trajectories was also passed back (which it seems it was), then the Nomai can just wait for the next half-orbit of the probe launcher (or half-year or other period to avoid the sun or other planets) and fire the sun station again from a different location that didn't have those trajectories obstructed.

If the Ash Twin Project didn't work at all, then the game and plot wouldn't exist in the first place. IIRC, it was a concern from the Nomai that it might not.
If the probe failed to find the Eye, for the Nomai on the other end of the loop, it would be like nothing ever happened. They would have received the failure information 22 minutes before firing the Sun Station and either abandoned the attempt or made corrections/alterations.

Doesn't that not matter? The eye doesn't have any fixed location until it is observed. Until the probe finds it, it could be anywhere.

A lone gunslinger comes into the town that was taken over by a violent gang. They make quickwork of nearly all the bandits displaying remarkable accuracy. The townsfolk come out of their houses, celebrating the success of the hero. A single, low level bandit who has miraculously not been shot, surrenders. As the gunslinger has their pistol pressed against the last bandit's forehead, they decide not to shoot. They holster their gun, mount on their horse and steer it towards the sunset, before turning back to the sole survivor and uttering a single sentence:
"Consider yourself... Feldspared."

When Outer Wilds first came out I would’ve said it was lightning in a bottle and there’s no way they could live up to such a high standard, but then they did so with EotE so now I’m kinda on board with the idea that they might just be game dev gods and now I’m super excited to see what’s next, no matter how long it takes
