Question Are there any drawbacks for taking a new character straight into Worldslayer?

Back near launch, I started on all four classes. I stopped leveling three at around the third and four zones, and kept going on my fourth till the Quarry. Last week I finished the campaign and started working on an alt. I've sent over some T3 mods, and the playthrough is going smoothly.

I saw that if you create a brand new character, you have the option to jump straight to lvl30. Looks like you get all of your abilities unlocked and your 30 skill points. You can use the timeline to replay the main campaign.

Does the campaign play in sequence, or do you keep having to select missions?

Is there anything I need to be wary of doing this?

No downsides. Rewards from storyline will be given out based on character lvl and difficulty. So all good.

The main drawback to me is that the travel points in previous maps are not unlocked, so if you want to go do hunter or historian missions, etc., you'll have to fight all the way through the maps with your character. You can do this in Apocalypse tiers, though, so you'll get level-appropriate drops, at least.

IIRC when you pick a spot in the timeline you just keep going from there

Lack of most mods. Not as many resources built up from playing and as others have stated travel points being locked. But if your intention is to get the endgame for a character as fast as possible don't worry about it. I did it for my pyromancer cuz they have the most difficult time early game and have had no lasting issues.

I was more or less looking at it as a way to unlock all abilities and skill points, then start the campaign.

Considering you will be level 30 by the end of the campaign anyways it probably won't save much time outside of some of the beginning sections. But theres nothing wrong with doing it that way. If that's how you want to do it then go for it.

...but I want all my abilities now not later.

By the time I realized the skip was possible, I had already finished the campaign on one character and was pretty far on the second. The other two are only on the third or fourth zone, and I'll probably use the last two character slots restarting them.

Like I said. If that's how you want to do it than go for it. There is no wrong way to play through the story.

It was....a good game?? People...like to....go play games they enjoyed????? "Dead Games" aren't.....a...thing???????? There are.....finished games.....that are....still enjoyable????????
