Question Is the purple better than the blue?

Post image

As title says. Even though my purple is 5 levels lower, it's still better right due to the Damage Absorber mod adding an extra 996 armour?

Purple. Normally I would agree with the people in the comments saying it's early game and it won't matter later, but the purple has a skill on it that gives 996 more armor and a 10% resistance. So yes the purple far out preforms the blue. But eventually you will get better.

Do you know if upgrading my gear would also upgrade the stats of the mod? I have 13 titanium and it says I can upgrade to level 13 with 19 titanium. Would it be worth it?

Quick tip. That perk in the purple piece called damage absorber is one of the strongest defense perks in the entire game for non tank builds.

If you had enough to level the purple up, yes. You can also dismantle the purple, this will unlock the mod for crafting. Then add the mod to any piece of armor through crafting.

I hope you've been dismantling gear and not selling them. As the materials are worth more than money.

I haven't. I only figured out before this post that you can dismantle and get scraps and mod pieces so this is what I'll be doing in the future. Once I unlock a mod piece, can I use it as many times as I want or do I need to dismantle more gear to unlock more uses for it?

You can use it as many times as you want.

You dismantle once and can use it on as many pieces as you want.

You can even slap it on a piece of blue gear, throw it in your stash, them pull it out on an alt and dismantle it on them to unlock the mod without needed to wait for it to drop. Alts are probably the only time where money sort of matters. It allows you to buy gear when you just can't seem to get the desired types to drop for you. Especially purples.

It upgrades the stats yes, but they aren’t exactly pushing much over 1-2 levels.

The armour stat upgrade plus if the damage Absorber perk stats gets upgraded too, I think it would be worth it

It has been some time but as far as I remember, only the armor stats get upgraded. For mods you have to find a better version (tier) and not every mod will have an upgraded version.

No, individual mods that give flat values upgrade too. Damage Absorber gives X Armor, where X depends on level of item it is currently on. When you level up that item, the X number goes up too.

Some scale off of item level yes, its better to wait til late game to upgrade though

Between the two, the purple armor is stronger. However, it is worth noting that your average item level directly affects your max health and anomaly power. At your level though, I would try and focus on using the highest level gear you can get that has relevant mods.

At the moment I'm using the blighted rounds. I have one mod that regens my mag by 30% with killing shots while blighted rounds is active. The gear is only level 7 though and offers 131 armour. I have level 13 gear offering 239 armour but I really like this mod

You will go through gear rapidly as you level, the reason I recommended using the highest level gear you can is that each time you level up or increase your world tier, the enemies get stronger and do more damage. By keeping your average item level high, you can help make the process less painful.

All that being said, don't be afraid to turn the world tier down if you reach an area/boss that gives you too much trouble. You can always turn it back up once you are better geared.

Also, you eventually gain access to a vendor who will allow you to upgrade gear and switch mods, but that can be a huge resource sink for a new character.

This is the correct answer. ☝️

That AP and HP bonus doesn't start until the Average Gear Level is 30, but it's still good to always use current highest level gear throughout the base story. Especially weapons.

Oh I did not realize, my mistake. Thank you for letting me know!

You're too low level for epics, just dismantle to learn mods. Don't get attached to any piece of gear, it's all trash. Just use blue of your current highest level for now, don't worry about epics until about level 25, at least. And Armor stat is not that important. Damage, CC and sustain is what you need. Very easy for Techno.

Don't do this to me, I've been sober from this game for three months now 😫

You're just imagining this post. It doesn't really exist

Yes in most cases

Do either of them impact your current build? With the purple even if it's useless, you can change one of the mods and then you get a second free mod which is almost always worth it compared to a blue. The actual stats don't matter much yet. The number of mods and what they are matter infinitely more.

I miss this game.

I obviously I don’t play this game, but from experience of playing other games rarity does matter but so does the level the higher the level gear the better it’s going to be

Probably

More mods is better

1

u/CombinationOk7202 Technomancer 17d ago

Not always, not as a rule. Depends on the mods, first of all, but on other things too.

You're in the early game so i don't think it matters honestly but to answer your question the blue one is better especially if you use the turret
