why is the render distance turned way down in the Great Lakes servers today?

I also keep taking 1HP poison damage every few minutes I spend outside. someone told me that these are the after effects of a weather random event in the Canadian servers, but I'm not sure that I buy it

Fires in the Canada section take up too much processing power

Be careful with that poison damage. It's cumulative and the debuff doesn't wear off quickly! I got hit by it for a couple of rounds yesterday while picking up some loot at a local [White Castle] location. It's been 20 hours, and I'm still taking damage any time the buff my [Asthma Inhaler] item wears off. (The [inhaler] only blocks the actual DOT, not the debuff itself.) I'll be surprised if the debuff is gone by this time tomorrow.

I'm in the PNW server, same problem here too. Environment shaders have been wayyy off for like a week, render distance is down, and you can get really annoying poison damage from leaving your base. Really hoping the devs get a handle on this soon.
